Must SEE film. . .

'Lost in Translation' was pretty good but I thought 'Last life in the Universe' was much better in terms of exploring the disconnectivity in human interrelations and the need for companionship. The dialogue is purposely sparse because both characters (a Thai and a Japanese) only have a few English words in common - thus, an additional barrier to overcome in a world of barriers.

When it was showing here last spring, a common response after people saw "The Corporation" was "Oh, man, I'm so glad I don't live in the US". I wondered what effect it would have upon Americans watching it...

LOL @ "Secretary." Quirky and shows an alternative lifestyle--are these now the only requirements needed in order for a movie to be considered great?

I just read a review that called "The Motorcycle Diaries" on of the best movies of the year... anyone see it? ... coming of age story about Ernesto "El Che" Guevera.

Alien v Predator

"Who ever wins, We lose"

man, i cant wait for this film!

OK, John and I are on the same page. Must be the Irish thing:)

Ernest goes to camp. Now thats a movie!!!

Go see 'I heart huckabees' NOW. . . .it's FANTASTIC!

" Go see 'I heart huckabees' NOW. . . .it's FANTASTIC!"

I've heard divergent reviews on this one. What makes it so good?

"What makes it so good?"

The same thing that makes all good art, good Art. But regardless, it's always subjective so you will have to decide for yourself.

Check it out.

Be on the lookout for a film called "Primer"

It's being billed as 2001 meets Memento.

I have to ad "Waking Life". Must-see. And try watching it sober too;)

Definitely want to see Huckabees.

Pound-for-Pound, Quirky and alternative are not what
makes Secretary a "true" love story, or necessarily a
great movie. There's more to it than that.

Waking Life rocks.

"Wacking life" reeeeeeel good.

Another must see "Children from heaven".

I haven't seen the movie, but I'm familiar with Michael Moore and Noam Chomsky's works. These are hardly objective and unbiased perspectives.

For those who have never worked near the high end of a corporation, they must seem like terribly intimidating. For those like myself who have, they appear more like "Officespace" and "Dilbert."

"Wacking life" reeeeeeel good.

"Wacking" life, hmm?? Haven't heard of that one.

If you enjoyed The Corporation...I received the following via email:

ABOUT THE FILM
The Take is a political thriller that turns the globalization debate on its
head. Following Argentina’s radical new movement of occupied businesses — groups
of workers who are claiming the country’s bankrupt workplaces and running them
without bosses — this film tackles head on the challenge coming from critics,
and supporters, who ask: “We know what you’re against, but what are you for?”

i'm really looking forward to seeing this coz i've seen the corporation and was very disheartened that there wasn't something at the end of it about what the ordinary person could do

"groups of workers who are claiming the country’s bankrupt workplaces and running them without bosses"

i just hope Animal Farm was wrong, i guess time will tell

Excellent! I will look forward to that.

"i've seen the corporation and was very disheartened that there wasn't something at the end of it about what the ordinary person could do."

I hear that. But the flipside is seeing the CEO from the textile company who discovered some meaningful values was pretty cool. And watching him lecture an audience of CEO's was priceless. It always makes me feel better to see people like that in places of great influence.

If you guys liked the Corporation, check out the flick "The Yes Men". It's about a group of guys who posed as seminar givers for the WTO and gave some outrageous seminars lampooning the whole WTO, and they bought it hook, line and sinker. LOL
