Nate Diaz removed from UFC Rankings

UFC is turning into a fucking joke. They are bleeding money and the major MMA media hasn't even understood this yet.

They can't afford Nate Diaz. I hope they let him go so he can earn more money with other promoters.

AND they can't blame Nate Diaz inactivity as the cause for ranking removal since Maynard is still in the list.

Inactivity has nothing to do with it, the sycophants wanted pats on the head from Dana or it came from him.

Good thing Anderson Silva is still active...

FadeToBlack - I thought these official UFC rankings were supposed to be untampered with by the grimy, dirty fingers of Dana White?

Weren't these rankings supposed to be a composite of other media rankings?

So are you telling me that all these other websites and news sources that cover MMA all universally left Nate Diaz out of their rankings?

Yeah, I highly doubt that shit. Phone Post 3.0

What's the criteria for being "active"? And does the criteria used for Diaz apply to all the other fighters that are still considered "active"? I would assume that any fighter that has not competed as recently as Diaz would also not be included in the rankings, I mean doesn't that make sense?
I get the sense that Dana White is moving the goalposts at his discretion and basically reaffirming the notion that he and his stupid organization does not serve the sport very well.

Nobody knows what the criteria is, it seems to be a case by case basis.

I could go through the rankings now and pick out several fighters who have been inactive longer than Nate and I guarantee you those guys don't have as many top 10 wins. Gray Maynard for instance, he essentially said he was taking a mini-retirement and hasn't fought since November (against Nate), and yet he's considered an active fighter.

The truth is that despite the garbage Dana spews about beating the NFL or being bigger than soccer, UFC does not want this to be a sport. At least it appears that way.

These rankings have become an integral part of contract negotiations and that is likely what we are seeing here.

Fuck yo rankings yo!

It's not the rankings. It's not the HOF. It's like Rob Van Dam:

The Whole Fuckin' Show that's becoming a joke.

Kinda hard to compete with other sports organizations. UFC has to recruit their talent from prisons while everyone else recuits from universities.

Hi Danus!

This had to have come from zuffa. The thing is, if they are consistent about keeping purposely inactive fighters out of the rankings, this is not necessarily a bad thing. They need to be 100% consistent though.

I haven't looked. are guys like Dom Cruz still in?

C'mon man we get that you hate them, but ANYONE who can finish an Ironman is an athlete categorized by the term Triathlete and a pretty damn close to complete one as it takes mental strength to get through them.

Outside of that hate them all you want.

I like both brother as fighters but can't get behind their constant demands. I think fighter pay should be better but it appears like they want more than anybody else.

I'm not that big of a fan that I can listen to them complain every time they want extra cash.

I love the Diaz brothers. They are fucking awesome.

Seemingly Nate doesn't want to fight on his current deal so until that stalemate is resolved they might as well remove him.

I like Nate, he's a good fighter but I wouldn't call him essential to The UFC roster, unlike his buddy Gil.

Nate should get back in there ASAP, IMO. Phone Post 3.0

I dont hate them at all and by me stating my opinion that isnt in their favor doesnt mean i hate them. Both Diaz bros are no doubt very exciting to watch and i tune in for every one of their fights no question about it. Nick is def a true athlete in the physical term but as a whole an athlete is supposed to be professional. Nick and Nate are anything but professionals. Do you think if Nate had called Joe Silva PRIVATELY and requested a meeting to go over things he wouldve said no? I dont, but the guy wants fucking attention and goes on twitter and asks for his release, or says i wont fight unless i get a title shot. MOFO YOU HAD YOUR TITLE SHOT! lol and you lost same as your brother. You both lost so bad it wasnt close FOR ONE SECOND.

Nick got a title shot off a loss and he is still DEMANDING a title shot i mean are you serious? Nate beats Grey after he gets KTFO by Josh T and wants a title shot.

Listen you guys can follow a trend i have not only around here but with everything. No matter who i like or who i dont like i am always bias towards the situation. Example you all know im not a fan of Ronduh, but i have given her mad props on the way she has developed into a complete fighter especially her Stand up looks good. Im the same with Jones, im not a fan but i wont deny he is also becoming an all around beast.

Im a fan of Weidman but when he was talking Superfights even i was like chill bro you are nowhere near that yet, when i couldve been like a lot of UGers and just swing from his nuts and say SURE HE DOES he beat Silva who was going to fight Jones and GSP blah blah, but i dont im not like that.

Fair enough, I have no issue with anything other than the athlete comment and I don't believe a word Dana says other than that anything is possible and I don't follow trends. They are just more exciting and interesting than 98% of the roster to me, and that's coming from a GSP fan. I have no bias of love or hate towards any of the roster except personality gripes with Ronda and Jones.
