With the growing displeasure of mma's current scoring system, and no one presenting a superior option to the Ten point must, I offer the following solution.
THE 2 POINT MUST-
A fight is judged round by round in five categories. Each category is worth 2 points. The winner of a category is given 2 points, while the loser is given 1 or zero. In the case of a tie, both get 2.
CATEGORIES: Striking- Grappling- Submissions- Damage- Aggression/Cage Control.
If, for example, there is no grappling in a round, then each fighter receives 2 points. Hence the "2 point must" designation.

Thats how people who actually know how to score use the 10 point must system. The problem is not the numbers, the problem is the lack of knowledge on the part of mostly washed up boxing judges.
To demonstrate the system, my colleagues and I will be judging the main card fights of UFC 125 tonight on this thread.
We all have amateur mma experience. My back ground is primarily striking. One of us is a former college wrestler and a High School asst coach. The third is riding a three fight win streak and studies Gracie Jui Jitsu.
We will post our rd by rd scoring during the fights. At the end of the event we will post our detailed category by category scores.
