It is directed by Neil Huxley who directed the opening credits sequence of Watchmen! That's promising.

Guys why are you overrating Hans Zimmer so much? He is decent enough but no genius and certainly doesn't belong in the canon of truly great movie composers such as Ennio Morricone, John Williams, John Barry, Lalo Schifrin, Bernard Hermann etc. Even Danny Elfman, you ask a guy on the street to hum the Batman theme and 90% chance he will hum the Danny Elfman version not Zimmer's spacey shapeless noise.

Although older UK fans will be highly amused to learn that this guy is the man behind the ultimate cheesy quiz show theme tune, Going for Gold! And I have to admit that is one catchy jingle.

I was just disappointed because I looked through his resume and didn't see anything that good or memorable, lots of high profile work for sure but when you look closer there's not really any great masterpieces he's been involved in, I know everyone loves Dark Knight/Inception/Gladiator/Black Hawk Down etc but they are really overrated movies imo (and I wanted them to be good)

Funny I googled best movie composers and Hans Zimmer's name comes up all over the place. Sorry Dr Violence but Hans Zimmer is extremely highly regarded. Either way I think he is more than qualified to make an intro theme for UFC pay per views and I am excited to hear it.

^You googled him? Oh man, you win then

Zimmer is a fucking beast, let this be true.

I honestly can't believe there's people on this thread that don't know who hans zimmer is.

And i honestly don't believe that he's done the new intro music! Phone Post

Let's not eulogise his theme for True Romance too much. It's undoubtedly his most memorable work , but it's not exactly his most original:

NO I am already very familiar with movie composers. Been a fan of movie scores for more than 30 years. I googled greatest composers to illustrate the general consensus on who is highly regarded. ONe can quibble about really how good his work is but face it your initial post suggested you really did not know who he was.

^I don't understand what you're saying, you're saying I should surrender my opinion and fall into line with the general google consensus?

And it's clear in my OP that I wasn't aware of his name, however I mentioned that I looked him up and checked his resume and recognized ah, he's the guy who makes forgettable filler music for overrated blockbuster movies.

Good call by UFC if true. Hans is beast. Phone Post

"Huxley started by sifting through hours of archival footage and working with Dana to identify the 29 seminal fights, of which 18 made it into the piece. Digital artists worked with Neil to remove the fighters from backgrounds in the archival clips while an animation team began building CG environments and set pieces. Once an animation was locked, the Digital Domain team tracked and animated 3D digital human models, lining them up precisely with the fighters’ motion, to enable the simulation of real-world lighting and seamless matching of the fighters into CG environments. Digital Domain employed a team of 20 artists to complete this project in ten weeks."
