his only chance is first 30seconds, and Chandler always connects, mdfk is explosive as hell, and is tough then things goes south buut if Islam survives is just matter of time then Islam decides(or khabib) to try and finish the fight
and Islam isnt boring, lol just my second fight of him, but he takes risks
That the division is any different now than when Khabib was champ. He would have just run Charles over and we’d be in the exact same situation with a guy who is head and shoulders above everyone else.
If your only argument was that the division is more exciting with Charles as champ, I don’t disagree, but you can say that about any division where a champ nearly loses every time he wins (ie: a division without a dominant champ).
Is that what your bro’s wife says when you and him are going at it?
Dude you are making 2 arguments I did not make, and then arguing them. Why do people do this so much?
Let me explain it in case you are too defensive to have a civil discussion.
Charles-Tony Ferguson, Justin Gaethji, Dustin Poirier, Michael Chandler, this after beating solid guys like Nik Lentz, Kevin Lee, Jim Miller, Clay Guida
Had Charles beaten Islam, there’d be only one interesting fight in the lightweight division, Charles vs Volkanovski. One interesting fight if Charles is champion does not make the LW division exciting.
If Islam had faced Gaethji and or Poirier, his run towards the title would have been more entertaining. Instead, Islam’s path wasn’t as tough as Charles, but the fact Islam beat Charles justifies his title shot, but doesn’t leave for any interesting fights. Even though I think Islam would beat all the guys Charles did, he didn’t. And he probably doesn’t have to. He’s already the man.
So as far as the lightweight division goes, what exciting fights are there for Islam? I think Islam runs through Volkanovski.
In the UFC Damir, Guram, Arman Tsarukyan, even Fiziev and Gamrot would beat most of them.
Actually, the real second best LW in the world and biggest threat to Islam would be Usman Nurmagomedov, but they’ll obviously never fight. Usman is younger though. When Islam retires he’ll be in the UFC and take over as the divisions boogie man.
You proved my point. LW division is not exciting at the moment.
It doesn’t always have to be. That’s okay. The HW division is exciting, so is WW. MW is kinda exciting. Womens division has always sucked. We’ll see where the LW division goes.
