There is a league in South Africa iirc EFL or something. Bet it doesn’t pay 20 mil. I’m actually waiting on a call this afternoon, I’ve been off work (medical) for half a year, I’m worried they will try and bring me back in on a new hire contract (I was on a good deal)
WaltJ: I_Am_Usyks_Dosser: WaltJ:That’s disappointing, big time. I’m a big ONE fan and really wanted to see Francis vs their current HW champ Malykhin, because that guy has brutal power and has been unstoppable so far.
Other than a high profile boxing match, ONE was probably Ngannou’s best landing spot.
I don’t know what the hell he’s looking for, but he’s just about out of options and is at risk of fading into obscurity.
This. I’m sure he’s not gonna go fight for 10 grand in glory. He’s fucked himself and will find out
Hopefully cooler heads prevail and they can come back to the table to talk again. Maybe they can offer him a different set of incentives that are agreeable without ridiculous shit like him being a board member of their company (lol).
He’s played his hand too much at this point. People now know he’s a pain in the ass to deal with, and they know he’s running out of options, so this is all gonna work against him in the long run, and he’ll probably end up having to take way less than he would if he would have just played ball earlier in the process.
I appreciate his willingness to stand up for whatever cause he seems to believe in, but damn is he making some dumb ass decisions right now. In terms of actually getting to monetize Star power, unless there’s some huge money African promotion opening up tomorrow, ONE, with their marketing and outreach, is probably his best chance at staying relevant and having opportunities outside the cage.
And besides, ONE has maybe three solid HW’s but it’s not exactly a murderers row.

Just pull a Francis and demand that they make you a board member upon your return.
This sounds too ridiculous to be true. Maybe some partial truths in there but I’m not buying the whole story, without hearing the other side.

I don’t know the whole story, I’ve just noticed over the years a lot of things in the news that paint Francis as greedy and ungrateful. I could be completely wrong, maybe there’s a subliminal reason I never liked him?
Didn’t Conor want to become a share holder in the UFC or something a few years ago? I think they made things work by promoting Proper 12 though.

Sometimes truth is stranger than fiction.
Based on other things I’ve seen, and the interview with Francis on valuentainment, I’d say Francis has no idea about business but thinks he does.
And chatri seems very straight up not a tall tail teller like most promoters
Big ol nagger

I’m sure they partners up with it. I don’t have terrestrial TV and I’ve seen proper 12 commercials so it’s gotta be UFC
Well yeah, if you’re not the champ anymore, you don’t get paid as much right?
I really don’t see why Francis would want to be on the board just get paid it’s a lot simpler.
Then you have every guy wanting on the board just because someone else is true or not it’s ridiculous.

There was a Nigerian TUF I watched that Usman has part ownership in. But in terms of fighting the best heavyweight on the planet there’s nothing for him there. He should have stayed in the UFC and used his salary to help develop MMA in Africa.
If he was trying to set himself up for life the 20 million offer from One should have been enough?
As a gum-chewer, fuck Singapore.
Are you not allowed to chew gum over there?
Sounds like Francis is trying desperately to set himself up long term outside of the cage. Indicator of retirement plans
Yeah because 2M, 5M, or 8M, who can retire on that? It HAS to be 20M+, right?
Well yeah, if you’re not the champ anymore, you don’t get paid as much right?
He’d likely lose ppv points if he lost the belt.
Unreal man, 20 Million? He’s no spring chicken, he’s needs to sign on the dotted line and Velcro them up FAST!
Wahlberg called Conor’s bluff on this
What was this?
