Spoken like a true ref. Hundreds of athletes a year are screwed out of big time matches because the ref's have no idea what is even happening on the mat. Part of this problem has to do with the fact that ref's volunteer their time. If it were a ref's job to get the calls right you know damn well there wouldn't be half the fuck ups as there are now. Unfortunetly a ref can show up at a tournament and change the course of an athlete's life by one bad call. And to the ref it's like "oops, sorry" and that's it, they go home and forget about it and don't have to deal with it. But for an athlete who has spent the last four years of their life training everyday a bad call is a little more than a stubbed toe. As an athlete all I ask for is fair, accurate refereeing.
