Paul Craigs 5th undefeated opponent in UFC

Personally I'm happy for him. He should be ballin' by now.

UFC keep handing him undefeated fighters. Can't help but wonder why. Can't they face each other too?

Most of them were undefeated on the regional circuits but had little or no UFC experience when he fought them. Some were recently signed and wouldn't have been on the roster at the same time to fight each other.

  • Upcoming opponent Kennedy Nzechukwu: 6-0, no UFC fights, one appearance on "DW's contender series."
  • Last opponent Jimmy Crute: It was Crute's first UFC fight (plus he had one fight on contender series).
  • Magomend Ankalaev: Straight off the Russian/European regional circuit. First UFC fight.
  • Tyson Pedro: 2nd UFC fight. Previously strictly on Australian regional circuit.

So Paul hasn't moved up the ranking at all then if he's still fighting the fresh regional guys?

Pretty exciting Paul Craig news: When Corey Anderson left UFC for Bellator, Paul entered the LHW rankings at #15.

Paul is 2-0-1 in his last 3 fights, Ankalaev, who Paul choked out at 4:59 of the 3rd round 2 years ago, is ranked #13. That is Ankalaev's only pro loss, as he was undefeated when he fought Paul and has won 4 straight since their fight.

That's a rematch I think. Still possibly the best submission of the year. Second only to Danny Henry with that disgusting neck crank /choke.

Speaking of rematches: For some reason, Ankalaev is fighting Cutelaba on this week's card. He crushed Cutelaba in 38 seconds back in February. I don't get why they'd be rematching. Maybe I missed a story about it. They were actually supposed to fight back in April, but that one was cancelled due to Covid.

He’s Scottish.

And that’s another undefeated opponent he’s fighting this weekend. He might end up actually having the record for taking most 0’s.
