PRIME Tito Ortiz vs PRIME Rampage Jackson

I remember gaining a measure of respect for Rampage during a press conference when a reporter tried to stir the pot and told Rampage that Tito had made some comments about fighting Rampage. Rampage immediately checked the reporter and said “show me the article where Tito said that”

I literally LOL’d when Tito said “And it wasn’t even this head.” That was quick and witty when Rampage was fuckin with him.

Really like this fight but more so wanted Randleman vs Tito. Wow! Remember Randleman called him a “bitch-ass” during one of the PRIDE preflight interviews.

I was at the first Tito vs Liddell fight and Rampage was there to support Tito. Maybe it was because Tito had cut for the fight but I was shocked at just how fucking big Rampage was. He was WAY bigger than Tito.

I saw Rampage fight Bryson Houbrick (sp!?!?) at an Indian Casino WAY early in his career. He had the full chain and wolf howl already. Bryson was like 6 foot 8 or some shit. Rampage pushed his shit in.

UFC 47. I turned 21 in July 2004, 3 weeks later I was at UFC 49. I fucked my first MILF that amazing week…countless times, went home, got back to JFK Airport with $4 in my pocket. I also had some stupid cunt girlfriend at that time in Staten Island. The MILF was like, “your girlfriend seems like a real bitch, does she suck your dick like I do,” and proceeded to leave no leftovers. Everytime the annoying bitch would call, I would make sure I was underneath, between this glorious MILF’s tits.

I was hooked up for some reason with Carson Daly through Cyndi Lauper whose my aunt, so I met Chuck for the first time while he was promoting the UFC 47 fight on Carson’s show. He was super cool. After he won, he returned to Last Call and told me I should come out to his next fight. I did…and that’s what happened.

Rampage should have been able to get that one done but he was so inconsistent with his performances, even in his prime, that who the hell knows.

Yes, it appears to be. There were shots over Chuck’s shoulder of Rampage stalking him. It was very blatantly obvious watching those that Rampage had him completely figured out.

Just rewatching it now, I never realized that it was as one sided as it really was. At this point, I wonder if that fight shortened his career in the way that sometimes happens in MMA.

Chuck came back to the UFC and won his next 6 or 7 fights but he didn’t really fight another boxer until he ran into Rampage a second time.

I think so. And the second fight sealed it. He was never the same after the second fight.

I think you’re right. I couldn’t remember if he’s starting slowing down or not prior to that. I agree with you either way.

Chuck prime was from the first Rampage fight to the second.

Chuck was a force of nature up until the pride rampage fight. Then he went on a 7-0 run when he got back to the ufc but nobody that could really crack if I’m remembering right. Vernon White might’ve been the best striker he fought. I think Tito, randy, Jeremy horn, babalu, tiger, and maybe the rematches with Tito and randy was that 7. I’m going off the top of my head so I might be wrong but none of those guys hit like rampage. Then the rematch happened and after that KO he was getting in slugfest with Keith Jardine and getting Flatlined fight after fight. Barring one ugly fight with Wand where neither guy looked prime. I think Rampage ruined Liddell.

That’s fair

Agreed on all counts! That’s pretty much what reading the time span on his record would imply and it matches what I was thinking.

IMO,I think it was a bad thing to do to him when they put him against Rich Franklin who was mostly a striker and had ruined at least 3 people off the top of my head.

Any beating like that (Chuck/Rampage 1)will take some years off of a guy’s shelf life.
