"If I'm going to be critically honest, I'm not surprised that I lost the fight," Jackson told MMAjunkie.com.
Jackson's troubles, of course, began far before he stepped into the cage with Bader. A knee injury suffered in training threatened his participation in the fight, though Jackson ultimately elected to carry on in hopes of putting in a crowd-pleasing performance in front of the same Japanese crowd that cheered him on during the glory days of his PRIDE run.
Despite committing to the fight, Jackson encountered problems during his weightcut and was only able to make it down to 211 pounds for the light heavyweight matchup.
"I almost didn't make it to the fight, but I didn't want to pull out for the Japanese fans," Jackson said. "I injured my knee pretty bad, and my doctor told me not to fight. But it wasn't real serious. I didn't need surgery or nothing, but he told me it wasn't a good idea to fight. I decided to fight anyway."
I'm gonna be honest and say that Rampage sounds like he has the gambler's problem of "chasing": in a deficit and probably should call it a day, but still wants to give it another shot to end on a good note and dig yourself out of the hole.
That said, I'm always happy to see him fight and I'd be interested in a Shogun-Page match.
Stfu rampage has made weight enough times, couch potato, being hurt and still fighting he's got my respect, he's never missed weight he's not making excuses he did the best he could he isn't Anthony johnson asshole.
I'm just sick of hearing excuses from fighters after they loose, I'm not singling Rampage out just over it...
well he said he has an injury.but u kno what? he didn;t move any different that he has in his last few fights. he looked slow last night. Randy couture improved his game alot in his 40's..quinton is still a young man, there is still time..but i doubt he will make the meaningful changes.
Good win for bader..once again showing rampage that this is mma not boxing..people have more than one tool to win
Normally, whenever I hear of someone blaming their loss on injury, I just roll my eyes and move on. This time, I think it was pretty apparent. You could tell when he was throwing his hooks that he really couldnt step into it. I give him props for trying for the japanese fans but it turned out ugly.
Can't believe how many people are defending Jackson's embarrassing whining. He has shown nothing for years. Dude looks like he has mailed in every fight nowadays, and is just interested in collecting a paycheck. Like the last poster said, he should be 0-4 in his last 4 fights. Time to retire. Just the truth.
