I am absolutely not interested in seeing Ronda vs Liz in a MAIN event slot of a UFC. The fact that this is happening in the first place is a big red flag for what the UFC is becoming.
Do you guys remember when the UFC eliminated the 155 pound weight class due to lack of interest? That actually happened 6 or so years ago , and most of those fighters (Sherk/Kenny/etc) had to make it at 170 , or look for a new job.
These days the UFC has gone in a complete different direction. First bringing back the 155’s , then later introducing 145 / 135 / 125 , and now apparently 115. Oh , and the Women’s division too.
Out of all these additions, none of them carry less depth and lack of talent than the Women’s division. They’re about 10 years behind what the men are doing right now , and that’s just the brutal honest truth. I saw Gina display whitebelt level bjj , just like I see Ronda now freezing up with her chin exposed on the feet.
You hardly have three entire people in that division , and you’re already gifting Ronda with the belt, and giving a title shot to an unknown fighter? This is supposed to take precedence over Machida vs Henderson , who are both established badasses?
This , along with the UFC’s recent decision to give title shots to whoever they want regardless of rank & achievement makes me think we’re heading in the wrong direction..

Carmouche probably will get massacred but more power to her for stepping up. And Rousey is awesome. Great to see her in the UFC!
I'm more surprised that its headlining over Machida/Hendo. 
The whole thing is more of a gimmick, and overshadows 2 really great fights in hendo/machida , and Faber/Menjivar.
I'm surprise that she's headlining a ppv so soon and against someone that's not cyborg/tate

They should be building the women's division along like they do with any other divisions. The first fights in those didn't headline a card. No matter if it's a title fight, no testing? Really? SF is your test base now?
Rousy main eventing is one thing... but then you have a lesbian in the main event on your first female fight. That's a bit much to swallow especially all the new eyeballs and stereo typng the sport. I bet they give liz carmouche no media/pr schedule.

I dont think her being a lez means anything, as for ROnda/Cyborg if they did do that you would be peaking in the first fight.
Everything after that would be downhill. This atleast gives them something to climb towards. If you did Ronda/Cyborg first you might as well pack it in after that because its all downhill.
This gives them a chance to promote Ronda, let fans see who she is, get an impressive performance or two in the UFC, if Cyborg can make the weight you make her win a fight and make the weight in the UFC. Then you set the fight, it becomes much bigger that way.
of course one of them could lose and kill this fight.
Definitely have to agree with the "detractors" on the thread. How about having a female TUF to really test the waters.
