Scott Coker confirms Diaz called off Mayhem bout

MrMaxwell - if a legit fighter called Diaz out at 185 im sure he'd make the fight happen, just not Mayhem. he gets nothing by moving up in weight to fight him, hes got everything to lose and nothing to gain

Layzie? is that you?

12 year old kid who watches Mayhems gay show on MTV, is that you?!

Wow, the same punchlines Layzie uses....... suprising!

yawn

Mayhem is a fighter i like but he has nothing to bring to the table and Diaz realizes that. I don't think Diaz will have a easy go at mayhem because anyone can get KO'D but him wanting to fight a champion with nothing to offer is like a guy putting up his pink slip to his Gremlin in a poker game.

With you and Blackbudda, it appears we have a couple intellectuals that have joined the thread. Welcome!

LMAO at a guy named "LILBROCKONMYCHEST" determinig whos an intellectual.

LilBrockonmychest - Withut a book?

Let me slow this down for you Blackbuddah.....I know you've tried to avoid this twice, but attempt to focus.

If Nick has already agreed to fight Mayhem at 178, meaning Nick himself deems Mayhem a worthy opponent, how can you say that Nick shouldn't fight him because he has nothing to gain? Or is this just your baby brained opinion?

Again, try and stay on topic.

Diaz is all emotion and of course he would want to fight at 178 but when MAYEHEM TURNED TAHT FIGHT DOWN the reward for fighting him is gone. Mayhem is not worthy for Diaz to move up to that weight...Frank shamrock was.

Was a typo your attempt at WIT making light of my intElLigenTS?

Mayhem needs to worry about stepping his competition up instead of trying to make people laugh.

Camel Killer - Mayhem doesn't deserve the fight period. If I were Diaz I would NEVER give him the fight. Why would he? Does nothing to advance his career. There are much bigger fish to fry.

If Diaz didn't jump him with his buddies then I could see why he might be able to turn down this fight with Mayhem but as he did jump Mayhem then he needs to nut up and accept the fight otherwise it looks like ..... he's scared.

MrMaxwell - seems everyone forgot that Mayhem tried to steal Jake Shield's moment too after the biggest win of his career, which started the fight. really, what the fuck did you think would happen with Cesar Gracie camp in the ring?

Buncha drama, pillowfists, and 209 yelps? That's what we got....

The bottom line is that there is a very good reason that Nick Diaz is not in the UFC... because he can't hang. He tried, he failed. Strikeforce is a great spot for him, he can showcase some of his talent and avoid any real threats. I like Nick but lets get real he knows his limitations. He is not going to chance a fight against Mayhem. He can comfortably "talk" about fighting Franklin and GSP and whoever else in the UFC knowing perfectly well that it probably will never happen. If he pulled that brawl shit in the UFC he would probably have gotten his ass handed to him by Herb or Rosenthal

Was it like when Diaz tried to steal KJ Noons moment after one of the biggest wins of his career?

Owned.

Monsters Ball - It's funny but the weight wasn't an issue when he jumped Mayhem with a bunch of his friends.

thats because that was a "streetfight", where one of his friends was in possible physical danger. If someone attacks one of your friends on the street, you fight.

A sportfight is different. Miller fights in a weighclass above. Diaz asked for time to put on good weight. He was nice to say that, he has no need to fight Miller at all.

Mayhem asking for a rematch = "his friends was in possible physical danger" ???

LOL!!!

No, it's really on Nick Diaz that there was a fight in the ring. Him and his brother did the same thing once before after a KJ Noons fight. In ring brawls are totally about the Diaz brothers. That's the atmosphere they bring.

They are the reason CBS is cautious about putting MMA on broadcast TV again. Those two guys and their childish way of thinking are to blame. Mayhem only asked for a rematch.

Nick needs to man up and take that fight but he seems to be afraid of Mayhem unless he can have his posse help him fight.

I agree

- 7:53 Herschel Walker fighting Don Frye or Mark Coleman next year

wow.....Don or Mark would absolutely maul him....it would be ugly

Nick really did puss out.......damn

Do you realize that 11 of Nick's last 17 fights have been against lightweights (either at 160 or fighters that fight up to 170)? It seems he has no issue fighting guys he is bigger than

omg, Nick fought lightweights when he fought AS A LIGHTWEIGHT??? The nerve!

Nick cut weight to fought lightweights.

He gave up weight to fight guys like Shamrock and Smith.

His next fight is against a guy who used to fight at 205. By the way, was Cyborg fat at 205? Because it's weird that he can make 170 but it's impossible for Mayhem to even make 178.

DON'T BE SCARED HOMIE!!!

Dana Stern - Here's the thing, Mayhem and Nick Diaz are both being pussys here for some reason. Coker said the fight was within 2 pounds of getting done, that says to me

1. Nick Diaz is not what he says he is, is not as tough as he says, is scared, and would rather loose out on a lot of money and hype then be exposed as a fraud.

2. Mayhem either cuts an extreme amount of wait and that last 2 pound would for real cause him enough problems to where he'd be fucked, or he's completly stupid, or he hyped this up because he knew Diaz wouldnt take the fight and wanted him to look like a bitch.

I know that Mayhem does cut quite a bit of weight. I think the problem with this fight was that they were asking him to cut a lot of weight in a very short time frame and he said that he didn't think he could make that cut for the January card. I'm sure if he had a full camp he could have made it.

Nick has fought lightweights as a WELTERWEIGHT too, but don't let the facts interfere with a good ole Orcus troll.

He signed a contract to fight Shammy, someone he KNEW he'd beat at 182lbs but isn't willing to fight Mayhem at 181?

He had no problem beating up on a geriatric Sakurai but people give Mayhem shit for fighting Sakuraba?

He had no problem trying to steal KJ's thunder after the biggest win in his career but jumped Mayhem for doing the same to Shields.

Cyborg has three wins in his last 7 fights, all of them coming against cans. Are we supposed to be impressed that Nick signed to fight someone whose biggest recent wins are over the horrendously overhyped Zaromskis and perennial can in Takimoto?
1.If you listen to the video, scott say that diaz was willing to fight at 180 or 181.
2.He also says miller couldn't/wouldn't cut the two extra lbs. and diaz wouldn't go up the two extra lbs.
3.The shamrock fight was at 179lbs and both fighters weighed in at 180lbs.
4.Goldberg and elite xc brought diaz into the cage after the noons fight. Diaz didn't just invite himself in mid interview.

Nick has fought lightweights as a WELTERWEIGHT too, but don't let the facts interfere with a good ole Orcus troll.

How many times? Oh, you mean Noons, whom Diaz gave a title shot too? I'm pretty sure Noons was happy with that deal.

He had no problem beating up on a geriatric Sakurai but people give Mayhem shit for fighting Sakuraba?

Who gives Mayhem shit for that? It's just not a good win. Just like the Sakurai win for Diaz.

No, you are complaining he fights guys smaller than he is, but here he is fighting a guy who is bigger than he is. As he has done on more than one occasion.

Remind me who Mayhem has ever fought in his entire career who was bigger than he is? Here's a guy who is sooooo big he can't possibly make 178, but half his opponents -- including ones who have tooled him -- have ended up at 170.

He had no problem trying to steal KJ's thunder after the biggest win in his career but jumped Mayhem for doing the same to Shields.

He jumped Mayhem because Mayhem put his hands on Jake.

I'm not sure about this Mayhem - Diaz thing, but CRE really made a point about Franklin. He's taken some hellacious shots by some famous bomb throwers and kept on going.

TTT for Franklin's chin.
