With being such a band wagon jumper on women's MMA. Dana talked so much trash about female MMA fighters but Scott Coker had the vision to know there was a big market for them in the sport. It took Coker years and blood sweat and tears to get them in the spot light and now Dana is coming along and acting like it was his idea all along.
He could not have talked more smack about women fighters and now he's going border line overboard on over promoting Ronda. I don't know about you guys but Scott Coker should be recognized for the guy who brought woman's MMA to the main stream and not Dana.
I really don't think women's MMA is going to take off. What other competitive international sport has womens competition taken off in?
Well Dana has a better platform to promote off of. UFC was a recognized brand from the get go when Dana took it over and Scott Coker built Strike Force from the ground up. I think Coker did a hell of a job and shockingly Strike Force is dead 6 months after Zuffa takes it over. I'm kind of tired of Dana pretending they're going to continue with promotions after they buy them. Prime example was the Pride acquisition.
He has literally two women fighters signed if im not mistaken.......theres only another 3-4 that even knowledgeable (mens) MMA fans have even heard of.....and one of them has steroid issues.....Other than having 2-3 big fights a year, I dont see how this helps Zuffa.....unless there's 1 fight every now and then on the undercard and/or Dana is banging Rhonda
He could not have talked more smack about women fighters?
What exactly did he say about women fighters?
He said their wasnt enough depth, wow thats harsh man. He really ripped into all those female fighters.
Dana hated WMMA then he met Ronda and fell in love.
I think it's cute.

VTFU.. this is soooo true...Dana is like a giddy middle school boy with a chubby when he's around her

Or maybe he sees an opportunity to help his promotion grow and he sees a potential star he can make money off of and who can possibly cross over in ways male fighters cant.

He never talked crap about it. He never said he hated it. He just said he didn't see the appeal or depth And that he doesn't ever think women will be in the ufc. Obviously he's changed his mind but he never shittallked it
^Word. If Dana's shittalking someone or something, you fucking know it. Shit, look at the front page of UG news today and you see an article about Bob Arum and the tone he uses for guys like this that really piss him off and he really doesn't like and it's just not the same as what he's said about WMMA.

All this hate for Dana is a bit unjustifiable. Like someone mentioned he never bashed woman fighters he said there were not enough good fighters for solid divisions. Said he appreciates when two skilled women fighters compete, but once saw an attractive girl take on a female Randy Couture and the attractive one got beat up like octamoms snatch. As for Scott Coker he did do a lot for women's MMA and did a great job with Strikeforce but they didn't sell it to Zuffa because it was so successful. Same with Pride. It's not like just because Zuffa buys a promotion they can make a struggling one turn to gold. It would be hard to run multiple MMA Prmotions at once. Putting the fighters under one roof is really the way to go. Under the most successful roof.
Who?
NotImpressedByYourScreenName -Barbalos - I really don't think women's MMA is going to take off. What other competitive international sport has womens competition taken off in?Um...tennis? Hockey? Water polo? Judo? TKD?
Should I go on or you trollin??
He takes the bait.

Dana White -- Women Will Never Fight in The UFCThe UFC has banned another substance -- estrogen -- because UFC honcho Dana White tells us he will "NEVER" allow a female fighter to step inside his octagon.
Is that shit talking?? No it isn't, that exactly what I just said. He didn't see the appeal nor depth and said it would nevee happen.
it wasnt coker who brought female mma to the forefrunt it was Gary Shaw. Coker Inherited what Gary did. Coker wasnt even the one who signed Ronda Rousey... Rousey was signed after the SF purchase and sean shelby (ufc's matchmaker) was calling the shots then.

Exactly.
SF was handed the Gina/Cyborg fight and womens mma by Shaw and you are right, it was Zuffa who scouted and signed Ronda, not Coker or pre Zuffa SF.
There isn't a big market for WMMA. Wait until Rousey loses, then no one will care about it.
I just don't see how one fighter manhandling all contenders badly convinces you the division can make good business sense.
Even if Cyborg/Rousey happens, where are the threats, and if no threats where are the legends of the sport people want to see fight even if they can't contend like at LHW?
I'll still watch Ronda fight but as a freakshow short term thing not as a long term interest
