For the record the first fight was awesome. I think they're just using his legend bullshit as a platform for their less known talent. That Bendo intro made their future look promising.

And it's a dumb argument anyway as it already abundantly clear that the fans who tune in to watch these freak fights don't hang around to watch normal Bellator shows.
These fights are just short term money makers and Viacom knows that. They are not part of a strategy to build the brand long-term, signing guys like Benson are part of that strategy.
But they are fools if they think they can constantly trash their brand and simultaneously build a legitimate roster. This isn't Japan, you can insert a few CM Punk's and James Toney's into the mix every now and then, but you can't keep staging events like this.
