Thought he would learn from last fight that hands low/chin high can cause some problems.

Strickland strikes me as a real slow learner

Sean has to be the easiest guy to hit at 185. He’s like a mop out there throwing punches. It’s fucking weird.

Yet one of the least hit fighters at 185…

The troll looked like he could box but was gassed as fuck. Did he come out of troll retirement? Strickland landed some good shots. I enjoyed the shit talk mid punches.

Sean’s got a very good style. People don’t understand it. It’s a little bit of long guard, a lot of parrying. It’s especially perfect for this kind of scenario with a boxer who’s a little smaller than you.

He walks into your space and forces you to throw, and his hands are in prime position to parry and counter.

He throws tight, straight counters mostly. His hands are always controlling the inside space. And he uses almost no energy. He could walk guys down like that for 100 rounds probably

If someone gets him to wiff a parry and throws a hard hook, it’s the kryptonite. But I’m sure he’s working on that. It’s not like he got KO’d by some scrub, Alex is one of the best strikers alive at that weight.

I think a late stage cross guard after he wiffs that right parry could solve the thing Alex caught him with. Easier said than done of course.

Hilarious. Strickland has always been this way. Like him or not, he’s a tough SOB

Good breakdown. Sean just needs to improve his defense against the guys at the highest level.

I never noticed his head being so still until he fought Alex. It’s like his neck is frozen.

That’s true, but head movement isn’t integral to every defensive style
