So uh, GSP clear P4P #1?

Anderson looked disgraceful for 90% of the fight losing in all areas. He showed he is a champion by finding a way to win a fight that he should have lost had Chael been less careless in the last round. GSP is much better overall than Silva who is missing a significant piece of the game (i.e. wrestling). His striking is second to none and he has an interesting jiu jitsu style given his long limbs. Hiowever, ee obviously does not handle forward pressure very well. He will need to reevaluate his training if he is to come back better than ever.

B_Goetz - GSP needs to beat an Olympic alternate wrestler, like Anderson just did. This just pushed Anderson further into the lead.

Lol...Ok Buddy....nice try

Kos and Hughes are awesome wrestlers, maybe not Olympic alternates but great wrestlers who have adapted their game to MMA, that is why they are such solid MMA fighters...oh btw you do know Hughes is a MMA legend and his strenght is wrestling...lol

guardbr8kr - GSP has loss 2 rounds in the UFC, Anderson just lost 4 in a row. There is no doubt GSP is P4P #1,

GSP has lost a more than 2 rounds in the UFC.

name them? he got subbed by hughes in an even round,he lost to bj the first round of there first fight,he lost to serra in the first couple minutes of that fight. Its not opinion, its the judges cards that say hes won every round but 2 since he has been in the ufc.Even against fitch who almost never loses a round

I think maybe Aldo has looked the most impressive lately.

Aldo showed he belongs in the discussion but we need to see itleast 3-4 solid contenders in his division before we can be serious about it

20-2 with tougher competition >27-4 with much weaker competition

not to mention he avenged both losses in ridiculous brutalizing fashion

GSP the new undisputed pound for pound king. This thread is overwhelmingly confirming this.Would like to see an official poll though

as far as the title defense streak well look what GSP had to do to get his title shot after his first loss to hughes

strasser,mayhem miller,trigg,sherk,BJ Penn

now lets look at what anderson had to do since getting into the ufc before a title shot

Leben!

now before his fight vs Leben he lost 2 of his previous 5 fights. He really has been given a free pass to the title, and half his title defenses were against guys who had shitty records but because 185 in the ufc was the weakest division it is what he got.GSP doesnt get this preferential treatment, hes not the cool in style brasilian black guy who salsa dances in the ring.He goes out and whoops ass against guys who go out and whoop ass.

Anderson whoops ass against guys who got a shot by the skin of there teeth in the weakest division in the history of the ufc, next to the hw champ Mir years

in the above mentioned fights he lost 1 round total by the way, just sayin,i need to stop.Im on fire and i need to put myself out since nobody else seems to be able to do it

Ansari - Anderson fighting Griffin and Irvin doesn't impress me all that much. Stylistically, those should have been easy fights for him. It'd be like Maia moving up to have a grappling match with Stephan Bonner. I wouldn't be that impressed when Maia won.

Jose Aldo

Pretty sure Anderson has the more impressive resume overall..

Newton, Sakarai, Horn, Murray, Rivera, Leben, Franklin, Hendo, Marquardt, Cote, Griffin, Maia, Sonnen

Lot of beef there..

Hmm not so sure there...I think they both have impressive Resume's....

Hughes 2 times (Some consider the best of all time)

BJ Penn 2 times (A lot were saying he would beat GSP before they fought and then their excuses were size difference, and he beat Hughes once).

Kos (a very solid Fighter)

Alves ( No one can beat him except Fitch and GSP)

Fitch ( well no one beats him period...GSP destroys him)

Not bad hey

Just because most fans refuse to acknowledge that Sonnen is the best wrestler in the UFC doesn't mean that he should suddenly drop down of a fight that he won. Sonnen is the only world class wrestler in the UFC. To find other wrestlers like Chael you have to look at guys like Daniel Cormier, Joe Warren, etc. I've been saying for the last month that Chael would take Anderson down and beat him up before being caught in a triangle. I thought it would be in round 2, but Sonnen impressed me and kept at it into the fifth round. The fact that Anderson could be losing that entire fight, but stay in it and with about a minute and a half left pull out the win, shows why he is the number one p4p fighter.

Thread with "So uh..." in title = ghey

With more time maybe Aldo, but GSP's been there and done that.

He's said eventually he might have to move up in weight too, so time will tell.  For now he's still a God among men.

Reed Rothchild -  Fedor, imo

Try again

I am a fan of both.

GSPs been untouchable but not putting them away.

Anderson got beat up but still tapped Chael out.
