There was this guy you might want to check out, I think he is a Brazilian and used Muay Thai early in his career for great success.

started with Nelio Naja, a TKD fighter who trained in Thailand.

Brought it back to rio and tought, Luis Alves(rip), Marco Ruas etc.

moved to Curritiba and tought Rudimar Fedrigo(chute boxe), rudimad Tought Noguchi, Claudio Popeye and a bunch others and the rest his history.

They seem to favor the more brawling aspects of muay thai as they train it to transision into mma with smaller gloves and all.

They are good and have heart but in the world of Muay Thai. They will still lose to the Dutch and Thais, except Katel Kubris, he has won tittles outside of Brazil and has since done very well in MMA

Katel never fought at the highest levels. Cosmo Alexandre however is the best brazilian in MT

Doesn't Dekkers have a sub-par record against Thais?

BTW, Dutch= best at higher weights
Thai= best at lower weights.

K1 is dominated by the Dutch but there are more Thai's in MAX.

I would have thought there would be way more Thai's in K1

i admit i havent watched all of them myself, but most people seem to think dekkers got screwed in many decisions against thais. he said he felt like he had to get the ko or he'd get jobbed- again i havent seen enough of those fights in their entirety to judge it, but that's his take.

Dekkers is an absolute machine but Under Thai scoring Dekkers lost! punches mean literally nothing in Thailand unless you KO them.
