The only opinion that matters on Mayhem/Bisping

I think it's quite disrespectful to say it was the most lopsided fight in UFC history but it wasn't all the competitive and didn't look like mayhem had anything to offer for several minutes before the finish. Still the talk of cutting him I fight ridiculous what's happened is a mismatch Bisping is underrated and mayhem is an overrated welterweight fighting at middleweight and he should get the chance of at least 1 or 2 more chances in the UFC. I'm a Mayhem fan and I thought Bisping completely dominated him. His stand up looked horrible, and I was disappointed on the effectiveness of his ground game.

By 2/3 through the 2nd round I wanted to change the channel. I actually got up and walked into the kitchen to get a beer (my wife wasn't home), because I couldn't watch any more.

I feel bad for bispings next opponent, all this talk of mayhem gassing is going to lite a fire underr bispings arce, body shots will gass an opponent down, simple boxing 101. Phone Post

listen, having a fight were people disagree on the degree of beating a guy took is like CRE posting a Lil Boosie video, it's going to happen from time to time...

but for the record, I didn't even think that was the most lopsided fight OF THE NIGHT.

has to be something elese going on...

I could probably last a good 60seconds at the pace they were fighting at before I started choking on my own vomit.

I hope Mayhem gets another shot.

I do think Mayhems striking and conditioning made the fight look worse than it was. Plus when you build this fight with all this supposed animosity from the show and it comes out like that Dana, who is prone to hyperbole anyways, will have a strong reaction.

Basically IMO from a business perspective you get some fans of Bully Beatdown watching some an MMA guy they have been told is one of the best in the world and when you tune in its him getting smashed and looking exhausted for multiple rounds.

Just my two cents.

Nope, the only opinion that matters is Dana's.

You of all people should know that :)

Sean McCorkle - Is mine, and here it is.

Mayhem clearly won the first round, and it wasn't really even close. The first 3 minutes of the second round were about even, and then obviously Bisping dominated the rest of the fight.

So I guess I'm missing the whole "most lopsided fight in MMA history" stuff. I don't even think Mayhem has anything to be ashamed of in his performance. I don't think it was him at his best, and he did gas, but Bisping is pretty damn good. He was nearly a 3-1 favorite going into the fight.

I mean I could be wrong (not really) but am I the only one who doesn't understand all the hoopla around the fight?

 :)

RickMartelsArrogance - Are you just now realizing Dana White really doesn't comprehend fights? I'm honestly convinced he doesn't understand what he's watching half the time.

The other half of the time his nose is in his blackberry.

fact filled post should be commended.

Mayhem's stand up looked soo much better in the sheilds fight.  I think he was trying too hard to replicate Hendo with the big orverhands and leaping hooks.  It worked for hendo for sure, but bisping has probably filled those gaps.  I think Jason fighting like Jason beats Bisping.  IMO

Who is Sean McCorkle?

ProteinPower - Mayhem won the round by laying on him and doing little to no damage. Even Dana is wrong sometimes, maybe he Dana had a adrenaline dump at that moment?

Dan Hardy vs. Mayhem

Holy shit, nevere thought of that!  That would be a great fight with mad shit talking!

BIG SEXY HAS SPOKEN!!! Phone Post

Dana made an off the cuff comment that was not meant to be taken literally.

I like Mayhem but he talked a lot of shit leading up to the fight about what he was going to do to Bisping but he gassed half way through the second round. He should be embarrassed with that aspect of the fight.

First fight back in the UFC and the main event and he gasses in the second round, that is unacceptable.

MarlyPersianNoob -  Please post more often.

I think you're hilarious and intresting. I heart McCorkle =)

Barf...

That is some serious ball sucking right there!

A scholar and a gentleman ^

(ATTN Dana ) Phone Post

Dana White loves Bisping due to the UK draw he brings. So obviously he was more biased towards Bisping winning the fight then Mayhem. Since Mayhem looked so bad, Dana was over-hyping Bisping because he knows what his draw is capable of. I think its more of biased wishful thinking then the truth.

Yea....I didn't understand DFW saying what he said. And I agree...Mayhem won the first round, gas'd out, and then got dominated. His striking did look sluggish for some reason. Like everyone else said...he must've had adrenaline dump or something....he just didn't look like himself.
