Lol. He’s not an all time great. But people need to put respect on Leon’s name. He hasn’t lost in 8 years and none of his fights have really been close. The only one that was, was a fight he was losing, until we brutally knocked Usman out. Then he came back in the rematch and dominated Usman pretty thoroughly.
I get why people aren’t onto Leon and why he has always been underrated, but he’s the champ because he’s the best in the world. Nobody at 170 with the exception of maybe Wonderboy can strike with Leon, and his grappling is getting better every fight. He’s a complete fighter.
Sadly it’s gonna take Leon getting brutally knocked out or slowing down significantly for people to realize how special he is.
Man I wish Colby fought more often. The dude is usually fun to watch, and he’s hilarious. Calling Shavkat “shitrat”. Lol. It’s so retarded. In the pressers you can tell when he didn’t have anything planned for the question he got asked so he improvises, and says something retarded. He’s laughing to himself saying this dumb shit. Even when it’s not funny, it’s still entertaining watching him try to come up with something to say,
Plenty of us have been calling Colby overrated before this fight based on his only wins in the past 5 years being against 3 washed fighters on losing streaks who retired shortly afterwards.
I didn’t say he’s literally always funny, but a lot of what he says is still funny. I’d much rather have him around than not because he’s entertaining.
I guess there is something funny about him stuttering over his words. Reminds me of something I would do. Try to do a character to get myself better career opportunities and I somehow fuck it up. Lol. It reminds me he is a regular person, and not Chael. Chael is so good I can’t even tell where he ends and where his character begins, which can also be unfunny at times.
Yup.
Honestly, that fight just reminded me of some of Anderson Silva’s boring fights where the opponent just seemed scared to engage.
The only times Colby showed anything at all was when Leon insisted on engaging on the ground, which was strategically dumb but showed his level of gameness (and how little respect he had for Colby’s abilities).
Leon is a big strong dude for the divison AND is the best striker in the division.
And now he’s showed multiple times he gives zero fucks about grappling with the best wrestlers in the division.
100 percent agreed. He even said himself he expected more out of Colby and was disappointed he wasn’t pushed more. In the post fight presser, Leon also said he isn’t impressed with the current crop of top welterweights and hopes to beat them all so he can have a challenge.
That’s obviously a bold statement because I think he has some tough stylistic matchups ahead but I have no doubt Leon is the best at 170. I hope he can pull off some impressive finishes because I wanna see it and I know he’s capable of it. Plus I think it’ll take his popularity to the next level.
Its called having dana WHITE privilege. I personally enjoyed watched him get slow cooked last night in front of his daddy. The reason he gets so many title shots despite being a C+ fighter is because he brings out the white, MAGA, beer drinking, pick up truck driving fanbase . In the UFC, money talks. Leon can’t sell.
