Almost brought a tear to my eye.
I Didn't get to see the fight but was reading the play by plays and it brought a huge smile to my face when I read he won, than I became a little annoying when I read the way he won. Lol, my GF said I acted like the Dodgers had just won the MLB Championship..
For the OG's,
Of course I smacked the shit outa her for saying something.
What a blessing. Good things for Pettis. He is going to be something special.
Don't know about you guys but this has been a horrible year for my allergies...
Pettis is amazing
PrettyBoy - What a blessing. Good things for Pettis. He is going to be something special.Lol,
he's BEEN.
fan for life
Old article on Pettis prior to his WEC debut. Great read.
I was in Las Vegas last year for a bachelor party at the Encore hotel (Club Surrender). As I was coming out of Surrender, I saw Pettis sitting at the blackjack table alone wearing an all-white suit, gambling against the dealer. I went up to him and said: "Anthony 'Showtime' Pettis? Hey I'm a big fan. Thanks or the awesome fights and good luck in your next fight." He seemed like a cool guy; shook my hand, thanked me, smiled and said "Yep, kick Cowboy's (Donald Cerrone) ass!"
I've always been a fan of "Showtime", but after losing my own father just last year, I've become an even bigger fan of his. I admire how he was able to take such a painful loss and turn it around to use it as motivation for something positive. Inspiring nonetheless.
Good for him....
He is a special kind of talent. His biggest problem in the future are injuries ( it worries me at time).
Anyways these are the moments in life that make grow and proud as a man. Both inspiring and humbling.
Been a huge fan of his ever since his first WEC fight. I always knew he was a special fighter
VU Taz, especially for the video for non US viewers. Much bigger fan of Pettis now.
Chupacabro - it is amazing to me that a 15 year old had the poise and character to internalize the murder of his father in such a positive way. Most adults are not capabe of that level of resilience. The guy is a role model.
Yup. Look at Aaron Hernandez.
Gotta admit I was pretty happy last night. Nothing against Bendo but Pettis is something special. I think he can become a star in this sport, I really do. He has the whole package; talent, good looks, intelligence and great character.

(as Benderson did)
