Sean even played his game by chasing him around but Izzy couldn’t successfully counter him. The pace was just too much, Strickland is simply the better striker.

Styles make fights. Pressure fighter (strickland) beats technician (adesanya), technician (adesanya) beats the power puncher (pereira), the power puncher (pereira) beats the pressure fighter (strickland). It’s not set in stone, but these styles work with each other in this manner more often than not.

I wouldn’t call strickland the superior striker, but he did employ the perfect strategy to beat Izzy.

also hes 34, many years fighting. almost all of them are slowing down by 34
he may have reached the point where top contenders have quicker reflexes
he might be at the point in his career where he takes a long string of losses, then retires
but he did look great not so long ago in his revenge ko of pereira
