TOKORO FIGHT = WORK!

Any time you see a ton of bjj transitions without 1 punch being thrown, you can bet your life its a work.

I know all you blue belts will get worked up cuz that "fight" was a wet dream come true but that shit was fake as hell.

The shitty part about PRIDE having lots of worked fights is that now every japanese show is accused of having few works on it.

It's a shame. Thanks PRIDE.

Has nothing to do with Pride. Any time you see transitions like that with a guy screaming trying to get an armbar and no punches being thrown, you got yourself a work.

It could also be a product of one's training. If you are doing an hour of wrestling and BJJ (non-MMA grappling), an hour of Kickboxing (no grappling), you bump into this. Sak vs. Newton was the same.

Troll troll troll your boat

 great fight

great work

You can bitch about Japanese works all you like, do you know how many works are done in the US? More than you can count my friend. Grassroots...famous for it

Looked fishy.. When Tokoro had the armbar, he was open for hammer fists. Guy didn't throw one punch. Unless it was an unwritten agreement like Sakuraba/Newton had.

LOL@this shit. Both guys come from backgrounds where striking to the head on the ground is DISALLOWED - ZST and U-FILE/UWF. Tokoro is extremely quick on the ground and is known for being able to catch most of his opponents in armbars even if he doesn't finish them, so why take the risk?

LOL@these non-training UG "work" fags. I guess a fast-paced grappling match with limited striking is "boring" now compared to two tatted up guys leaning against the fence throwing rabbit punches or chipping away with elbows and hammerfists from inside the closed guard.

 I'm pretty sure Mo trains.

LMAT at pointing to a work as evidence for a fight!!

Thats like using Terminator 2 as evidence that time travel is possible!

That was my first tought when I watched it. It looked like a worked match. Too much clean technique without resistance. It was counter for counter like in a slow roll.

But anyway it looked really good.

Who said it was boring? It was exciting...thats how works are. They ensure entertainment for the fans.

I agree that Newton-Sakuraba was a work. It always makes me laugh when people hold that fight up as a great example of the sport.

Fine, change "boring" to "less authentic and desirable."

Again, you're saying that the fight was a work because Tokoro and Nakamura (two fighters from style backgrounds and/or promotions which don't emphasize ground striking) didn't hit each other with hammerfists enough? LOL.

Who cares what their backgrounds are. Brock's background is collegiate wrestling. Jacare's background is pure Judo/Bjj. Both those guys punched their opponents. Tokoro and Nakamura had a pure work of a "fight."

You think these guys are uncomfortable punching their opponents because they come from submission wrestling backgrounds?? LOL should be at you not me bro!

I think they were kinda busy with the submissions. Not a work. But there's lots of conspiracy theorists trying to look smart, but they really don't know very much.

if you want to know about works in the US, just ask the Cannon...

think its kinda fishy that someone that grapples that nicely would reach for that calf crunch with the inside arm(arm closest to the butt)
