Trigg would beat Charuto

He just matches up good against him.

true...

NO, he doesn't.

He'd get tapped in one.

Charuto is Trigg's ideal style of opponent IMO.

Nope. Not the way I see it anyway. But it would make a MUCH, mush more excititng fight than Hughes/Verrisimo. Trigg opens up and throws bombs from inside the guard while Hughes keeps it tight and stalled, looking to score points with short strikes or for a chance to pass.

I see Trigg keeping it exciting, but leaving himself more prone to guard submissions.

"I see Trigg keeping it exciting, but leaving himself more prone to guard submissions. "

Another way to put that is. I see Trigg keeping it exciting, and more likely to open up and cause damage to Verissimo than Hughes did.

Uhh, Trigg wasnt fighting Charuto, he fought Hallman.

We dont know if Trigg would fight like that against Charuto until he actually does.

Styles make fights, friends (Hallman and Charuto are not the same fighter).

Definately no comparisons between Charuto is light years beyond Hallmans subs and guardwork.

But yes Trigg matches well against submission guys.

I don't see this one going well for Trigg. I don't think he would shoot the first time he got hit and could do some damage on the standup.

Would be a good fight though.

This is the top five IMO.

1) Penn (not for long IMO)

2) Hughes

3) Sherk

4) Trigg

5)Charuto

I think Trigg vs Charuto would be a good fight. I personally think Trigg may try and bully Charuto standing, dont think it would work though.

It's true that Trigg hasn't faced many jiu-jitsu
experts other than Hallman... only JJ Machado, Renzo,
Iha...

Trigg matches up well vs. jiu jitsu experts. I would Love to see Trigg vs. Charuto.

I think St. Pierre matches up better vs. Charuto than Trigg...better standup....Charuto is damned good at neutralizing strength on the ground, and you'd need good striking to set up a flurry or a takedown.

"I don't see this one going well for Trigg"-- Yelm

You didnt see the Hallman fight as going well for Trigg either and not only did it go well for him it was one of the top performances of the night.

So what?

Akira Kikuchi, Jutaro Nakao and Hayato Sakurai would wreck Charuto as well!

You are correct NovakHT. I do think that Charuto is good at neutralizing gnp though and that is what I am basing that on. Who else (aside from Hallman) has been under Hughes and not gotten the tar beaten out of them.

I am not saying Trigg is not good (far from it), just that he doesn't match up well with Charuto. I could be wrong it wouldn't be anything new.

What was Nakao been up to since his loss to Sherk?

imo verissimo would pose the exact same threat to trigg that he did to matt. and watch those upkicks trigg!

Good points--  From my view I think Trigg likes to fight against submission fiighters. He can decide against almost anyone if the fight is going to take place standing or on the ground.Trigg has been working very hard on his standup game and will continue to work on it--  Plus a lot of people underestimate how good Trigg is at punching and striking through a guard.  Charuto looked really good at keeping Hughes from opening up-- but I suspect just as Hallman may have had an off night that Hughes may have had one as well.

Trigg has fought some really good sub specialists and he has fared pretty well.As Trigg gets better with his boxing and kicking he is going to be really tough to beat.

But props to Charuto--he fought a LOT closer fight then the judges gave him credit for and on a given day he can compete and beat about anyone it appears.

Him and Trigg would be a good fight-- But I like Triggs chances agaist anyone--esp. if he fights on a more regular basis.

I actaully would like to see Hallman vs Charuto  or Hallman vs Shonie Carter.

A, B, C matchups are made because of these situations... Matt tapped Frank in 1, Charuto ALMOST beat Matt.

Bad matchup for Trigg if anything.
