Win or Lose, Kimbo is staying in the UFC
JT42382 - Win or Lose, Kimbo is staying in the UFC
holy jeebus
10 bucks says after Kimbo's first UFC win, he will fight Brock for the biggest MMA PPV ever.
Holy shit! Kimbo is the biggest star in mma still. I don't understand why, but he is.
That's crazy. Great news for Roy Nelson and the other good fighters in the house if the ratings stay high though.
Wow.
Kimbo was right when he said whoever came up with TUF was a genius.
Marcus seems like a down to earth guy
Even beyond Kimbo, it seems like this one was announced and they started hyping it quite some time ago. Lots of commercials and mainstream press, too. It's had time to really make people eager to watch.
Squared Circle - =Kimbo
That is a really good video, i'd like whoever made that to make a MMA highlight vid or documentry. Nice.
thats probably the best mma commercial i have ever seen...why didnt they run this as a TV ad?
I'll even sit through all those damn commercials to see me some heavyweight antics!
4.1 million is almost certainly the "peak" viewership, not the average rating. I'm sure they scored a good average, but you'll have to wait for a proper ratings report to see how well they really did. This is what UFC always does: selectively cull the best-sounding numbers from the ratings data and ignore the rest. It worked really well last time, they even managed to convince typical fanboys that the UFC 100 replay "won" over Carano vs. Cyborg even though Strikeforce had the higher rating.
HW's always draw better as long as they are promoted properly.
" It worked really well last time, they even managed to convince typical fanboys that the UFC 100 replay "won" over Carano vs. Cyborg even though Strikeforce had the higher rating."
How ironic that in a post cautioning us against UFC's spin tactics, you attempt to spin Strikeforce's higher "rating" as a victory even though they had 1/4 as many VIEWERS as the UFC. The only ones who care about ratings as opposed to viewers are the execs at Showtime.
With all the former NFL guys in the house, I'm surprised i didin't seen any ads for this during any football games.
bismanfightclub -Dawkins - Holy shit! Kimbo is the biggest star in mma still. I don't understand why, but he is.
I bet if Lesnar had to go through the TUF house, his #'s would have been as good or better.
nope...they wouldve been slamming him for bein a RASSLA...also he doesnt have "SHOCK" value considering he had a legit wrestlingbackground...even with WWE it still shows to a degree "MMA-ish" relations even if it isnt "real".
kimbo brings a value of "unknown" and had a mysterious and questionable element to him as "can he make it with street fighting skills". its a new unheard of and never done before approach.
