TUF 12 Preview: 'The Perfect Good Guy vs. The Perfect Bad Boy'

should be a cool season, but damn it looked like at first that Dana had some major arm pit sweet...

They show T.J. O'Brien about to fight, but I don't get it he just won a fight a few weeks ago at King of the Cage. Are fighters allowed to keep fighting before the show debuts?

When does this show air?

September 15th

Where do people come from with this?

The entire point is to give guys a shot at making the UFC that either A) are relatively new guys with loads of talent, B) vets who never had a shot, and even sometimes C) guys who've had a shot and are looking to get another chance.  These are all guys that (supposedly) want it and are willing to go through 6 weeks of pseudo hell for an opportunity to make it.  Top that off with two well respected and talented coaches and teams that we get to watch and learn from, a bunch of free fights, and typically some other crazy stuff here and there and TUF is a good thing all around.   They're hoping 1 or 2 guys will be contenders or even champs some day and history has shown the show does just that.  And if it's the house drama just about everyone has the ability to pause/fast forward/skip/etc. on their DVR or at least get up and take a break during those parts.

Too many are judging the show for something it's not trying to be.  Stop hating and enjoy some MMA goodness.

Man that wrestler looks like he could be Frankie Edgar's long lost brother! Should be a good season.

That and the fact that size really doesn't matter on these types of shows. That should have been proven from TUF 1 with Sanchez and Florian, who were 185 on the show, fighting well above their best weight. Since then they've gone on and fought for a title.

And then on TUF 2 with Rashad fighting at HW, pretty much dominating everybody, then going to 205 and eventually winning the belt.

They can have relatively new guys but they can still be guys people have heard of. You are right in the sense that they are getting nowhere near the top prosects anymore. But more guys looking to really prove themselves. WIth this season being all 55ers I expect the best season of fights in a while

ITs for a UFC contract so size does matter. If they end up with a guy who should be 145 winning he'll be in the UFC at 55 for at least a couple years before he can go to his normal weight class
