I have NEVER met a single person who was a Nielson viewer. I have lived in multiple states and have come across thousands of people in my lifetime. Not one has ever been a Nielson rater.

they are replaying at least the first episode on big fox in most markets but if you're asking why arent the premiere episodes on big fox?
because fox sports would rather get 500k viewers on fs1 than 2 million viewers on big fox.
You can air anything on big fox and pull those numnbeers... you dont have that luxury on fs1... exclusive mlb baseball games are averaging 477k viewers on fs1. college football is averaging around 500k viewers on fs1 and these are live events. FS1 doesnt have anything that gets numbers so there's no way ther would give up tuf even with these numbers.
That sucks for the UFC and the sport because tuf isnt generating any new fans like it used to... when tuf was on spike or fx millions of people flip through those channels and youre funnel is always decently full... if people get tired of ufc and move onto something else you had tuf replacing them with new people and then some... that's not happening anymore.
if they replay the episodes on a regular basis on big fox even at odd hours then you can mitigate the problem and everyone is happy... fs1 still gets to premiere the episodes which the replays should help because it's essentially a commercial on fox for fs1 and the UFC is getting more of the exposure needed to fill up the funnel.
For how crappy tuf has done in past few years. This is a good rating.

There's no reason to have TUF shows anymore, at least in the US. Nobody cares about the women's division anyway.

Makes no sense that this is on FS1, it's a reality show meant to bring in casual audiences so they slowly learn and become fans of this sport while still getting all the drama and confrontations that they seem to love on television.
Nobody is going to randomly tune into a sports network looking for this kind of show. Where it is now, they're only going to get those already in the know with zero new viewers. Fox sucks at this.

It is really time to put the TUF show to rest. Next year will be 10 years and they keep doing the same old thing (outside of a few cosmetic changes). The UFC has to come up with something better to get old fans excited and attract new fans.

Under most circumstances I'd agree. But this season has a lot of promise. The girls are fighting. It's for the belt. It's an old-school tournament. They truly have most of the best at 115.
Why the F does it even matter what the numbers are? They're creating something awesome here. If every season had this much promise, maybe we'd be in the middle of a turn around?
I just don't get the negativity contrasted with the current season. If you'd posted this thread with respect to TUF Asia, it would have been a little easier to swallow.

This actually is a worthy season. I hope most people tune in. I haven't watched a TUF in ages, but this one definitely has me. Maybe it's mostly appealing to the long-term MMA fans rather than for people with a slight interest.
Those numbers are way lower than they should.

To put it simply Tuf is on FX1 to help build the new channel FX1 and not build the ufc .
I would bet its contracted like that, ufc gets big fox event 4-6 times a year to bring in a new audience and in return ufc has TUF on FX1 to build the new channel
they tried something new with the seeded bracket which i like and the all female cast which im not crazy about..sure, a few of the fighters are nice to look at but in terms of ability or charisma, they lack it big time...who cares about this womens division or who becomes champion of it?even many of the hardcores dont give a shit so why would the average joe sitting on the couch..they might tune in to see an ass shot here and there but then they will get bored..there isnt enough interesting content on TUF anymore to keep people interested..the silly drama that goes on in the house gets old quick..as much of a great fighter that Pettis is, nor him or Melendez have much charisma..
i dunno how to make it exciting again, i dont think you can...
