There are no corners to trap someone in. A guy like Song who is trying to use angles and pressure his opponent is at a disadvantage in an octogon compared to a ring. Entertainment wise, it is much more exciting to see this same battle for ring generalship when a guy just can’t circle out and fight off gis back foot the entire fight(not a knock on phillips).
