Kola Koka would be great as long as he showed up in is straw hat
kolo would be awesome.
Kolo would kill......so long as he let the devil prevail in the ring ;)
I agree with what everyone wrote on this forum. In the next issue of UPROAR, coming out in a few weeks, I wrote about Shane and his experience in the house. Got to talk with him when I went to the Big Island to do the lua story. He didn't wanna ruin the show, so he just told me he got into some things when he was up there. I believe they do call him back as a replacement. I heard he's in the finale. We'll see. Hawaii fighters need to start realizing they represent more than themselves and the gym they fight out of when they step in front of the camera on a national level like that. it's a reflection on Hawaii and the MMA community in Hawaii.
It's tough when there is a lot of alchohol, no tv, no books, magazines or newspapers, no internet, no phone and no going outside.
i was embarrassed for BJ after last nights show.
hopefully he redeems himself
A lot of Hawaii fighters as of late have been anything on screen but intelligent or good for the sport.
If not weird drunken tirades just the awkwardness of wathcing the post fight interviews.
Po'ai has impressed me alot by the way he handles himself, articulate on the mike etc. thumbs up for him and YES outta Bj's camo too!
+1 for Po'ai
and he's an HGer!
I thought i looked like a moron on the mike... but thanks anyway
I second the notion of Kaleo, Kolo, Aina, or Po'ai on TUF.
Po'ai you do well on the mic.
i think the funniest thing is when they are doing the confessionals and one fighter starts saying that shane has the tolerance of...(up till then i thought he was gonna say something like russian general or fat irishman, i didnt know how much he had)...a 12 year old girl, haha laughed my ass off, randle no can handle
I agree on Shane having a punky, green bottle, beach thug, bad attitude by pushing Escudero. That was just wrong, uncalled for, and embarrassing. Especially since he's talented and had a chance to take it all.
But who cares about how Hawaii fighters talk on the mic?
It's not a presidential debate.
That's how local boys talk. Why sweat it?
Situation is no different than any other fighter with an accent.

It is very different when a local fighter cant put together a coherant thought and he's swearing and being plain ol disrespectful to everyone. you couple that with a full pidgeon accent and its FUBAR.
Its not the accent....
Its the lack of class.
can you imagine some young suburban kid walking onto the set first day and seeing Kolo Koka?
No TV or books? Dana said they're grown men and they deserve to be able to have a few drinks if they want. Why the hell can't they watch TV or read? I can understand why you wouldn't allow internet or any other outside communication, but no TV?
That only tells me that they actually WANT those guys to get wasted and act up for ratings.
Otherwise, if you can do without women, tv, or communication you can certainly do without booze. And booze would only contribute to poorer performances in the cage. So the only possible reason it's there is for them to fuck up and make ratings...and threads.
nelson came off like a major cocky asshole
junon - can you imagine some young suburban kid walking onto the set first day and seeing Kolo Koka?
thats EXACTLY what i thought when i tried to get him on the show back in 2005. was thinking to myself "Kolo will be the most unique reality TV star EVER...middle America will shit themselves!"
^^^^^- The look on those kids' eyes would've been classic... thinking they gotta fight this guy! HA!!!
But then the pressure is really on him to win the whole thing. Because if one of those kids beats him, then he will have been perceived as all bark, no bite, and some kid will have gotten to slay the big scary dragon.
