follow my link I think it is the full show
TheAlchemist -WEBZBOX - I agree on Shane having a punky, green bottle, beach thug, bad attitude by pushing Escudero. That was just wrong, uncalled for, and embarrassing. Especially since he's talented and had a chance to take it all.
But who cares about how Hawaii fighters talk on the mic?
It's not a presidential debate.
That's how local boys talk. Why sweat it?
Situation is no different than any other fighter with an accent.
It is very different when a local fighter cant put together a coherant thought and he's swearing and being plain ol disrespectful to everyone. you couple that with a full pidgeon accent and its FUBAR.
Its not the accent....
Its the lack of class.
I was just responding to the statement that mad tiger made about the "awkwardness of watching the post fight interviews" and about Poai being "articulate on the mic."
I took it as he felt that local fighters didn't speak well on the mic in a post fight interview. That is what my comment about how we talk was directed toward.
Pidgin accent is good and shouldn't matter. Nothing wrong with being a non-conformist.
Swearing and being disrespectful is bad.
Peace!

agreed. and using pidgin or the local accent shouldnt keep a fighter from being more articulate than we usually see.
my fav example of a fighter who went from absolute the worst to very good on the mic is Mark Oshiro. he used to freeze, and his nerves made him revert to some sort of barely-coherent pidgin.
today he does really well on the mic. he hasnt lost any of his local-ness, but is good at fully giving open and thorough responses. i'm really proud of how far he came.
After watching his fight, looks like his "lay and pray" wasn't working and he didn't know how to be agressive. When he did, he slipped up. Also, it's funny how they say that his stand up is sharp! Serious?
Oh yeah, Juni's a punk!
