“I cried, I thought a lot of shit, and now I’m ashamed and only think in one thing now: I want a rematch”, Silva posted on his Twitter today, after describing the Saturday as the “worst day” of his life”.
Bobby Sparkle - Would hate to see Wand badly hurt. I agree with the calls for him to quit but when a fighter's still hungry it's unlikely. Prior to the fight he said he had five years left in him. <img src="/images/phone/post_tag.png" alt="Phone Post" border="0" style="vertical-align:middle;"/>
This. That interview with Wand where he said he wants to fight for five more years made me cringe. Five more years of taking hard shots to the head and he is not going to be in good shape at all.
He has nothing left to prove. He is a legend of the sport, and one of the all time greats. No fan has a bad thing to say about him, and he is respected by all.
Easier said than done getting him to pack it in though. The dude is addicted to fighting, he wont leave easy.
jjj2121 - To be out nearly 18 months, work your ass off and then get blasted out of there in under 30 sec by a TUF reject.
Fuck.
Being a fighter sure has to suck sometimes.
The man with the most wins at 185 in UFC history? Yeah, "TUF reject" is the best way to describe him.
Nice troll.
Chris Leben is a B/C fighter. Not to disrespect him, but that's the truth.
Right, a B/C fighter could amass the most wins in a division. A B/C fighter can also KO Rivera, KO Santiago, have Bisping running out of fear all fight, KO Terry Martin, KO Simpson, submit Akiyama, and KTFO Wand. I'd love to hear who the A fighters are, the A/B fighters, and the B fighters are.
Obviously, Wand is a C/D fighter by your logic.
Just give credit where credit is do, troll.
He's a scrappy brawler with an iron beard. Not elite, never fought for the title (or been relatively close to doing so) despite being around forever and never will.
BTW -Rivera, Santiago, Martin, Akiyama, this older version of Wand...give me their combined UFC record.

That's a fine characterization. As for not being elite, what is elite? He was a win over Anderson away from fighting for the title. He could have also positioned himself for a title shot or a no. 1 contender's match, if he had beaten Stann.
Nah, I don't need to give you shit. Why don't you start answering my questions, first?
You're out of your element, jjj. You have a warped sense of Leben, as many do. I'll bet it blew your mind that he has won the most fights at 185. Chris Leben is one tough customer and he is always a couple bolos away from a title shot.
I've watched Leben enough to have a firm opinion on him just as you have. He doesn't suck, he hits really hard, and he has a good chin. He's also incredibly sloppy on the feet and I think it's comical that you say he's always comical to say that he's always a couple bolos from a title shot. He's been around forever in the weakest (or 2nd weakest depending on your opinion of HW) division in the sport and hasn't gotten there yet, with the added benefit of being an originalTUFer (See wat I did thurr?). Kos, Sanchez, Griffin, Florian...they all got there. Not Leben though in a weaker division than any of them. Know why? He's a cut below.
They should NEVER allow him back in the octagon again...He has taken way too much damage over the last few years...he's not losing decisions, he's getting KTFO...
Has to retire or he will be a vegetable in a few years...
He's a horrible matchup for Wanderlei. But plenty of guys have beaten him with a more refined overall game. I thought Wanderlei would come in sharper and more technical, not just wade in there and trade. That's a recipe for disaster with Leben.
Leben was submitted by Jake Rosholt less than two years ago and he lost to Kalib Starnes. I agree that he is "one tough customer" but I wouldn't call him elite, as he has zero wins over anyone else elite unless you count Wand.
