Wasa-B's Word: Floyd vs Shane

ron den otter - I agree that Manny does leap in and is off-balance at times but he has very good feet --as in he gets himself into a position to punch very quickly even when he's off-balance-- and in this sense he's awkward and will be difficult to prepare for; it's not as if you can easily find sparring partners who can imitate Pacquiao.

I haven't seen an fighter ever drain him of his will to win.

Btw, unlike what's going on in other PBF-Pacman threads, I'm really enjoying this discussion.

This is an interesting point that Pac doesnt 1-2 jab/power in orthodox fashion. He can be off balance but then fires unpredictably from diff timing and angles.

Will this help or hurt him? Floyd is the master of defense and adjusting but can he adjust to unpredictable punches in combinations that are fast and very powerful?

How much can we draw from how much trouble JMM gave Pac as a smaller fighter and with "no foot work" as Steward said?

It makes it harder for PBF, I think, because his timing can be thrown off. Nothing is worse than preparing for an opponent who is unorhtodox in some respects and even awkward but who is fast, throws combos, and punches hard.

Maybe a lot. True, Pacquiao didn't have great performances against JMM. But I would point out that he did knock JMM down four times in their two fights.

I'm still not convinced Pacman vs Floyd will happen anytime soon, def not this year.
