Don’t do it unless you are under 10 years old and your mom is driving you to class.
Just today I saw a grown man in a GB gi & brown belt walk into a mini-mart.
This is dorky, lame behavior. When I was 12 I knew not to go around in public in my gi.
If I see a guy in a martial arts uniform get into a fight in public, I’m for the other guy on principle.
I usually take that shit off before even stepping outside of the gym. The most I wear in public is a tshirt and gi pants. But that’s when I’m grabbing some milk or something in a mini mart.
If you can walk in and out of the gym in the same clothing I question the training you’re doing.
One of our guys drives to class with jacket on and belt tied.

Years ago, a student of mine let one of his friends wear a club gi as a Halloween costume. It was done up with the club logo and website etc. and the guy put it on, got drunk, and chased people around town, throwing firecrackers at them.
Perfect advertising! LOL

I did wear my GI pants and an old judo GI top years ago for Halloween with a plastic samurai sword and a shitty black wig we tried to make look like Japanese ponytail/ Sumo sort of hairstyle.
Within an hour of drinking, I lost the sword & belt
The top ponytail came out of the wig. I just basically looked like a crazy person.
Unless the gym has changing rooms. Mine does.
I walk in/out wearing regular clothes and carrying all my gear in a gym bag.
How about the gi and sneakers look? I always make fun of a buddy of mine as he walks in with that combo.
Gi and wrestling shoes is pretty cool.
I live 5 minutes from my gym so I wear my gi to and from class.

Plus I teach the 830 bjjbasics class nightly and I dont get sweaty teaching most times so no need to change

Well the three clubs I trained at over the years, had change rooms and showers.
So yeah I walked out wearing the same clothes I was wearing when I walked in
Unless you’re showering at the gym I never understood changing before going home. That’s just extra dirty clothes
I shower at home, put on gi pants and my rash guard. I carry the jacket and belt. I drive to class, then I drive home. Gi goes straight to the washing machine and I go straight to a shower
If you live far away, take public transportation, aren’t going home, then I understand
I’m in bucket truck training right now for work. Are you guys saying I shouldn’t be wearing my gi so everyone knows what’s up?

That’s ridiculous! I wear my speedo and pancrase boots to the mall though
I wear it to church incase god or Jesus tries me.
