Web-site Update!

Hey you all,

as you may remember I chose to go with the name Hybrid Fitness for my web-site etc. Since choosing the name we (business partners and I) have been working on Logo designs, etc.

I expect to be up and running by Christmas time. We will be doing an initial offering of T-shirts. Beanies, and other little goodies.

Next we will be working on creating a library of Top Notch DVDs. The first project will more then likely be

TAKU's INTERVALS.

We'll keep you posted.

Do you recommend doing phase 4 of your interval protocols if you are not planning to compete? If not, do you stop at phase 3? Do you always do the 15 minutes of steady state exercise before the intervals?

good questions. One can certainly do phase four even if they are not competing. But if done correctly it is the hardest phase by far.

You do the 15 minute steady state sections if you desire or require a longer warm-up, cool-down process. Also if you feel you may want or need more lower intensity cardio as part of your plan.

In terms of heart rate. I range from 65% to 75% during the steady state portion of the warm-up and 90% during the interval portion. Does that seem appropriate? I know you use a perceived exertion scale.

I wrote the original article using the R.P.E. scale so as not to make folks feel they needed any special equipment to use this plan. I personally use a Heart Rate monitor for my clients and myself during training.

If using the HR monitor you should be working between 70-85% of your max for the steady state and 90-100% during the interval portions.
