Oh man 101,yeah that was awesome as well.

i was just thinking about it and the first couple of fights on the main card were okay. but silva griffin is one of the best fights i've ever seen. and watching k-flo struggle to take bj down then have bj flip the switch and easily take him down and sub him was pretty memorable. so that event only gets in because of the main and co main.

ricco beating randy has to be up there. that was also the night when Baroni matua'd menne

ufc 39 imho

Yup that's exactly why it's in for me. Great fights. 102 was also epic I just remembered. Phone Post

I am surprised no early UFC mentions.

I think 92, 100, 103, 117, 107, 126, 116, 129, 132, 134

If you are looking for an old UFC "must have" then I would say UFC 3. It has Royce vs Kimo, Keith Hackney vs 600 lbs Emmanuel Yarbourough (sp?), Harold Howard's flip kick and his destruction of Roland Payne.

1, 52, 100, 129, 134,

UFC 6-- amazing tournament. Tank looked invincible in his first two fights. I wish the second Oleg fight had not been thrown... then this would have been the perfect event. Every other fight was great. I think this was the show that proved that UFC could make it beyond just Royce and Severn.

UFC 17-- Henderson, Newton, Goes in a tournament... Tank, Coleman, Williams, Frank Shamrock in other fights. Some great finishes and wars.

UFC 34-- Another star-studded card, and every fight had a great finish, especially the "Rocky II" finish to Hughes-Newton. If this had been UFC 33 instead of what was UFC 33, UFC would be about three years ahead in its popularity.

UFC 40-- UFC had never seen the hype for a fight like Ortiz-Shamrock before then.

UFC 92-- Great card, great finishes, although all KOs (would have been perfect with some subs).

I don't know if it was the best ever but UFC 69 was a fine card. Seeing Sera knockout GSP was entertaining to say the least.

UFC 48: Lacked a solid Main Event but so many badass KO's

UFC 52: bunch of badass fights, hughes vs trigg FOTY

UFC: 40: Loaded with superstars who delivered

UFC 134: Brazil's legends hold it down in a big way

UFC 92: So many wars (besides Nog getting KOed by Mir)

 1-5

i agree.  the early tournament ufc's were my fav by far.  i'll watch ufc greatets hits volume 1 or ufc 1-8 every few months.

TheGARV -  1-5

UFC 31 ruled. Everyone forgets that one

Newton Militech
Lidell Randleman
Randy Rizzo 1
Serra Carter

ect

It would take hours to work out, but I'd start with 2, 4, 8, & 10.

Haadogei - 1-5"

Come on, I hope you are kidding around. Historic, maybe, but the sport is so much better today.

I'm not sure if I would say "better."  The sport is different today, that's for sure.

Further, there is a different element of surprise that was captured during the very early UFCs that simply cannot be reproduced today.  Of course, if someone didn't watch them during that time period, that element might easily be lost in translation.
