If watchability is the goal, yes.
Pinning in guard is in Sambo as well. I’ve seen bjj black belts get caught in pins from Sambo guys.
Not sure what world you live in, but In basically any competition with points, takedowns are currently scored, and guard pulls are never scored
That was terrible. You had guys get points for throwing up shitty cross collar chokes and sloppy footlocks which never came close to finishing, then proceeding to get their guards passed, mounted, back taken, to just stall and win a vicotry because thet tried tio “submit” their opponent. Horrible ruleset
