During the undercard portion of Saturday's Strikeforce show the Mark Miller v. Deray Davis fight was skipped over from it's scheduled slot to make sure the women's bout would have adequate time to get in before the start of the CBS broadcast. The ladies only took a few minutes to get their fight taken care of and there were thirty minutes left before the show went live. Still, the Miller/Davis fight didn't happen. We were told in the media section that the fight was going to be moved to after the main event. I'm not sure who provided that update but it was passed around from media member to media member.
After the post-Fedor madness cleared from the cage we were told to get upstairs for the press conference and it was clear that the Miller/Davis fight wasn't taking place. I tried to ask the few executives I saw walking around for the story and no one seemed to know.
That's some serious bullshit on Strikeforce's part.
At least have the decency to give those guys a little something extra for their troubles. Chances are both guys win bonuses combined would amount to less than five digits. Bad form Coker. Bad form.
They train for months, get their sponsors lined up, probably had friends and family in the crowd only to be told that they weren't fighting and only getting their show money.
Fighters on the undercard need their sponsor and win money just to break even or be slightly ahead.
Really poor job by strikeforce and I hope they correct their mistake

A guy on the MMAweekly forum said he talked to Miller's family and he wasn't comped a single ticket! They all had to buy their way into the show...and not see him fight!
Anyone that doesn't think this is fucked up is a Zuffa bashing hypocrite. Fitch/Thiago were in a similar spot at UFC 100. Guess what? They fought, got seen, and got paid. And if ANYTHING other than that had happened, we'd tear Dana a new asshole.

Classy
I wonder how much these guys were making. 2/2? 4/4?
It's a pretty small price to pay to do the right thing. It's Strikeforce's fault that this fight didn't happen not the fighter's.
I'm pretty sure they could have squeezed this fight in during the 30 minute intermission they had before going live.
