Faith Van Duin looks like a noodle next to Cyborg

I think she'll end up like a noodle: thrown against the wall, sliding down slowly...

In my opinion,  this fight became very real for Faith at the weigh -ins or she had a "fan girl" moment. Faith clapped as Cris was introduced and she had her hand out for Cris to shake as she walked towards her for the faith off. As Cris was about to turn around and walk off, Faith put her hand out for Cris to shake again

Ray,

Are you in Vegas yet? Do you know if anything went down backstage or if Marina and her team said anything to Cris?

Looks like Ms Coenen will be stepping into the cage soon

Finally the time is there! Training hard..can't wait to step into the Bellator-cage again. :D !

Marina is a coward. She and Rousey would never bully Cyborg the way they did Miesha on TUF. Phone Post 3.0

JustAnotherMMAFan,

I was hoping that Miesha would have invited Cris as a guest coach on TUF but at that time Dana would not have permitted that. I know that Shayna was backstage with Marina and her coach and from the picture below, the area backstage was open so  they must have seen Cris- I wish I was a fly on the wall just to see the reactions :)

Herica is really cute, she appears to really like Cris because she mentions her often

Why are you rooting for a backstage confrontation?

That doesn't do anyone any good and it creates a ton of headaches for the promoter.  It might even scratch a fight if someone gets hurt.  The smart thing to do, for both fighters, is to keep their distance and limit their confrontations to Twitter.  Thankfully, both fighters conducted themselves professionally and didn't go looking for trouble.  No true fan of WMMA, Invicta, Cyborg, or Marina should be rooting for a repeat of the Strikeforce: Nashville brawl.

Steve4192,

I reread what I wrote and at no point did I  say that I was rooting for a confrontation. The four horsewomen clearly have a problem with Cris, Marina and Ronda in particular. Marina has previously said  disrespectful things about Cris and we all saw the behavior towards Miesha on TUF. I wanted to know if Marina would behave the way she did on TUF. I read an interview just now and Marina appears to  humble going into this fight. I am not sure how me saying I wish I was a fly on the wall is anyway a reflection of my love for WMMA

Thanks Ray,

Bon Voyage!

Since when was marina with mellinium mma? She left both Glendale and csw? Never even heard about her training with bettis as her coach until yesterday. Also, normally the undercard opening fight does not start shit with the main event champion. Sunkist, what's the word on the camp switch? Mellinium is probably 60 miles from Los Angeles. I live in Oc and its 35 or more miles from me at least. (Spelling on mellinium?) Phone Post 3.0

Tru,

No idea but this is what Marina had to say about the camp switch. I say this respectfully, leaving GFC is the right decision for Marina/Jessamyn/Shayna. I think the only female fighters left at GFC are Ronda, Jemyma and Ronda's friend Pauline Macias from her judo days who is yet to make her debut

Bellator featherweight Georgi Karakanyan asked Shafir to come to his Millennia MMA gym to help him out with judo ahead of his bout with Bubba Jenkins. Shafir did and ended up loving it. For this camp, she stayed in Rancho Cucamonga near Millennia and also drove to Fullerton to CSW where she's trained by Josh Barnett and Erik Paulson.

On Thursday, Shafir will have Barnett and Millennia's Betiss Mansouri in her corner. Shafir said she has sparred with UFC welterweight Lorenz Larkin, an electric striker, often since going to Millennia.

JustAnotherMMAFan,

I agree, it would be interesting to know what lead to the decision for the ladies to leave GFC even though in my opinion, it is the right decision. I remember reading here that Edmond initially didn't want to train Ronda so maybe he can be difficult? I am positive that Jessamyn and Shayna live with Josh and Colleen. From the interview I posted above, Marina is living in Rancho Cucamunga and has been for a while.

" "I don't ever want to take on a fight that I don't think I can win. I have all the confidence in myself, but I also know that I have a lot of learning to do". Seems like she had a huge reality check, and finally understood she has no business fighting Cyborg.

Also, Larkin said that Cyborg would "fuck up Ronda Rousey easily" not four months ago:

JustAnotherMMAFan, '

Here you go :)

Invictafc 13 Results for anyone who missed an awesome card!

Cris Cyborg def. Faith Van Duin via TKO at :45 of R1
Tonya Evinger def. Irena Aldana via TKO (punches) at 4:38 of R4
Ayaka Hamasaki def. Herica Tiburcio via split decision (48-47, 47-48, 49-46)
Pannie Kianzad def. Jessica-Rose Clark via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)
Amber Brown def. Catherine Costigan via submission (rear-naked choke) at 3:37 of R1
Jamie Moyle def. Amy Montenegro via split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28)
Amber Leibrock def. Marina Shafir via TKO (punches) at :37 of R1

Thoughts on the card?
In my opinion the biggest upsets were
Amber Leibrock def. Marina Shafir via TKO (punches) at :37 of R1
Amber Brown def. Catherine Costigan via submission (rear-naked choke) at 3:37 of R1
and to some extent
Tonya Evinger def. Irena Aldana via TKO (punches) at 4:38 of R4
For those who follow this thread, I posted an interview were Amber said everyone was overlooking her and it seems as though she was right. Where does Marina go from here?

Irene proved that she has a lot of heart but in my opinon, Tonya exposed the holes in her ground game. In my opinion, if Irene can get some good grappling training at another gym, she will def put the 135lb division on notice, WIll this loss to Tonya affect her potential move to the UFC? Another forum member mentioned a while back that Alexa and Irene come as a "package" deal so maybe this loss doesnt really matter?. Tonya mentioned in her pre fight media scrum that she wouldnt be interested in going to the UFC because she knows she will not be as acive as she is in Invicta, in your opinion, do you think that will change?

I honestly didnt expect Amber to defeat Catherine. There was alot of hype around Catherine going into this fight but unfortunately things didnt go well for Catherine last night. In my opinion she is a great fighter and with more training can do really well. The two Ambers where definately the dark horses on this card

What say you?
