Yeah but Sterlingâs control consisted of completely dominating Yan and almost choking him several times. Yan was able to defend the choke but never able to escape the position. And this occurred for entire rounds.
All Yan did was take Sean down, quick scramble or maybe 1 minute of control, then Sean is back up again.
Not all control is equal, and Sterling was trying to finish him.

After rewatching a second time I noticed him do it in pretty much every single grappling exchange, should have really had a point taken several times.

Nah Yan overlooked Suga and left a somewhat close fight to the opinions of judges. He left to the judges against Sterling and had the same reaction. Either finish a fight or be more definitive in your matches if you want a clear win.
