Yan got robbed

Weird how Yan did so much more damage on the feet than Sean. So much more in fact, that Yan just randomly decided to take Sean down. Not once or twice, but SIX times. Man, doing that much damage you’d think he would just stay on the feet and keep fucking Sean up.

The damage Sean did in that round was more than enough to make up for being out struck by 5 total strikes. Look at the significant strike count.

El Feroz !!!

One of my favorite Boxers ever

too bad Boxing is dead nowadays

I wouldn’t blame Yan if he refused all but 5 round fights from now on, and if he didn’t get the finish, just leave before the announcement.

If I were Petr Yan I just wouldn’t fight in the ufc anymore since he can’t get a fair shot. I’d go to Bellator or ONE

The same Judges work Bellator as well.

No he didn’t…he lost a close fight

I think the Yan-O’Malley fight was fought in a part of the Middle East where there is no “traditional” Athletic Commission so the UFC has the power to “work” with them and basically sanction themselves and choose the refs, judges etc…

Edit: Apparently there is a new Federation that oversees it in the UAE now and wasn’t even around before last year. Take from it what you will but if I were a fighter I would not be in a rush to fight there

Lol wat

There’s no one in those promotions that would last 15-25 minutes with Yan so the judges would never be a factor

I thought Yan won a close fight but if you leave it in the judges hands like that shit happens.

In hind sight Yan should have chopped him down. He was landing those kicks at will. He could have pounded more on the ground.

There is no controversy, Yan just loses close fights

Another frustrating and shitty part for Yan is he lost to Aljo because he got “controlled”

Then he lost to O’Malley because he was the one “controlling”

When it comes to UFC Judging for Yan… it’s heads they win… tails he loses…

Lol, who said he didn’t, good for Sterling, go fuck yourself

It doesn’t have to be a slaughter to have a robbery. Yan DEFINITELY should’ve won that fight due to being the more Effective fighter. You saw Khabib’s reaction to hearing the decision? He was shocked and confused by hearing it. When you have that type of reaction upon hearing a decision like that and then you see not ONE Media outlet have it for O’Malley, then it’s pretty safe to call it a Robbery.

Only people that truly believe O’Malley won had money on him and they convinced themselves

Like I said, even my friend who had $50 on SOM said it was a bad decision and Yan won the first 2 rounds

He wasn’t as mad about it as I am of course

I had no dog in the fight. I think Sean winning is good for the sport. I’m tired of seeing the same boring ass lookalike fighters every weekend. Sean comes to fight and so far has been exciting. Him winning is good for the sport. We need more guys like him, Paddy, Khamzat, we need characters!

To be honest I think this decision was WORST case scenario for O’Malley.

If he would’ve lost the decision or even gotten finished, everyone would be telling him what a warrior he is for stepping up being #12 to fight the #2 guy in the world.

But now he is getting a TON of hate for winning a fight that wasn’t his fault. That must suck

I knew Sean had legit skills but I doubted his top 10 ability (at BW)

I watched him submit Gomi in the quintet tournament and then he went the distance (10 minutes) with Gilbert Melendez. I know it was just a ‘fun grappling’ tournament but still impressive.

Is it possible for someone to create a poll where results aren’t visible, asking the people who claim to believe Sean O’Malley won how they scored the rounds? Does anyone claim anything other than 10-9 rounds? If not, perhaps just “Which round, if any, did you score for Petr Yan?”.

I can’t see it. I usually can understand another perspective, even I don’t agree. I’d like to see if there is a consensus on round scoring among those who believe Sean should have been awarded decision.
