Blah blah blah. He was protected before because his opponents weren’t good enough. Now he’s protected because he won a close decision to the #1 ranked guy.

On and on it’s gonna go. Win or lose, the guy did better than 95% of this place thought he was gonna do.

No it’s not, that’s a lame cop out releasing judges from accountability to competency. His responsibility is to fight and win the rounds based on the judging criteria. There is a very heavy opinion that based on this criteria, Yan did more than enough to win a comfortable decision.

I agree, Suga is definitely top 5 and showed he could hurt Yan, but going to have to disagree with the decision and move on. Great fight though.

In the past just getting the take down meant control.

You didn’t have to do anything with it.

I was pissed. I thought wow, what a great fight. Omalley sure looked like he belonged, impressive, so he won’t lose much stock even he lost. Then I hear it’s a SPLIT decision… then that he won? WTF

Good breakdown but he forgot to mention that being thrown on the ground and punched in the head after spending the entire round in the back foot doesn’t matter if you have a stupid hair cut and child’s crayon drawings for tats.

I agree with both of you. I have no problem at all with that decision. Yan did nothing with those takedowns. And I was not a fan of O’Malley going into this fight but he’s fairly game and has a chin
