Definitely a robbery. Even though Sean showed he belonged and the 1st round was close, Yan was the more Effective fighter. Yan definitely won the 2nd round and almost won the third. Horrible decision imo.

Sig strikes counts them pitter patter glove jabs
Dana was banking on a slow start by Yan by making this a 3 rounder instead of 5
Yan got beat up on the feet and did nothing with the takedowns. Was pretty much a pick em decision, donât see a good argument for either earning a winâŚ
thats all on Yan to b honest, but fuck whatta crazy decish
I thought so too.
I guess Abu Dhabians prioritize significant strikes.
I didnât get to watch until this morning. I accidentally saw that Shane won. I expected him to win rd 3 10-7 after I had him losing rounds 1 and 2. Curious decision.
Correct decision. Yan holding on for dear life in the 3rd.
OâMalley won the 1st and 3rd, the 2nd was either way. OâMalley had cleaner striking, more damage and better control. Clinching someone up against the cage because they are getting the better of you striking then struggling to them down then being unable to do damage/hold them down when you do get them down means little or nothing.
People are thinking Yan did more work than he did because they were all waiting for Yan to start outputting on the downloaded data, which he never did. It was an illusion.
Iâm not the biggest OâMalley fan but he won that.
Does everyone think itâs inconcievable for OMalley to have won 1 and 3?
Most writers scored it 2-1 Yan. That means r1 for OMalley and r3 was not a blow out for Yan at all. A robbery is where there is no case for one to win. I donât think you can say that.
Iâm sure most of the writers who scored r3 for Yan will admit it was still a close enough round.
Right so why mention âcontrolâ for Sean? Control is ONLY a factor when other criteria are even. Damage being the top. Actually Iâm not even sure what criteria âcontrolâ falls under. Does it go under âeffective grapplingâ? Depends I guess. Then there is octagon control I believe.
So Sterling did the same cuz that same boxer wrestled the wreslter too. Watch more fights.
Read the criteria.
Criteria will still involve interpretation and is not perfect but people need to stop making up their own.
In the 3rd, Yan didnât secure a takedown until 2:30. Up until then, he had been completely outstruck, been made to miss and OâMalley had blocked a lot of his other shots. He had also failed twice to take him down, being held off quite easily by OâMalley. He turned into a wrestler in desperation due to having his head split open by OâMalley. If people think that what Yan did in the final 2:30 minutes comes close to what OâMalley had done in the previous 2:30 minutes then they need to go and watch a sport that is easier to score, like golf.
I had OâMalley winning 1 and 3
So I think youâre trying to say Sean outstruck Yan. Not controlled him.
I went into the third rd assuming omalley needed a finish or a 10-8
Guess i was wrong
Yan hurt Sean in R2 but so did Sean. Yan won it but it was not a blow out where Sean was near finishes or even dropped. He was rocked.
Yan was landing the harder strikes. Omalley just wore them better. Omalley landed 4 good shots that each clearly effected Yan. Yan landed 1 good shot that hurt Omalley, and about 8 other good shots that didnt. And im only talking about clean power shots. Not pitty pat shots or deflected shots.
I guess the judges factored in how the fighters reacted to the strikes. Yan reacted poorly, Omalley wore them well.
I still say Yan had more effective striking by definition of the judging, but one could easily be fooled by the optics.
Khabib⌠âHow? How? I gave him (Yan) every round.â
