Zuffa Close to Signing Exclusive Apparel Sponsor

The rumor is either Adidas(Reebok), under armour or Nike.  If true, this means fighters will not be able to get their own sponsors for official UFC appearances (fights, etc...).   Zuffa will likely compensate the fighters which means they wont have to run around looking for infight sponsors anymore.

there's a possibility if a deal isnt done that Zuffa opens it's own UFC clothing brand as a sponsor for every fighter in either an exclusive scenario or as a default option in conjunction with approved sponsors.

good that the fighters are getting paid

Nice! I imagine the fighters will get a huge cut of the sponsorship deal.

could this be a reason why Anderson wasn't wearing Nike in his interview?

They're going to adapt this as their next marketing "outreach and awareness" campaign:

With the influence of fox, apparel brands, etc, all they are doing is inviting tasteless, money-hungry suits to directly influence their business and diminish the sport. What a shame.

Funny thing is if the deal goes through and everyone gets money, the UG will bitch it's screwing the top fighters over who could of got more money on their own. No matter what, the UG will bitch.

The UG has been that way forever. Most of the assholes that post on here now weren't around or forgot about the days fighters were getting paid like 1k.

yeah, it's the same dickheads who complain about too many ufc cards and then turn around and bitch and moan that a card is on fuel where they cant watch it.

Fighter pay has never had anything to do with the amount they are getting paid. It has to do with what percent of revenue they are getting. Phone Post 3.0

Zuffa is a private company so they won't be disclosing numbers ever. Also with revenue comes overhead costs, SG&A, taxes, overseas expansion, cable company cut, whatever widgets they produce with a bs "UFC" logo etc.

Yeah, I miss the times when the fighters had such high class sponsors as "The Condom Depot" sported on fighters gear.

Got to be Reebok right? I haven't heard anything on Adidas involving themselves with MMA.

Stephen Holder - its not nike apparently lol

this.

my guess is reebok. they had some talks before. they are most likely imo

Of course they won't, it clearly wouldn't be in their best interest to do so. Phone Post 3.0

Anderson did an interview where Arial asked him why he didn't have nike sponsors on his gear...he simply said ask Dana lol Phone Post 3.0

It would be mildly funny if it was Reebok, one last FU from Dana to Rampage Phone Post 3.0

Sorry, it might be a silly question but why isn't Under Armour part of the rumor?

Here in Canada, GSP's face is still all over the Under Armour product displays.

Most likely. Dana is blocking that Nike- Anderson Silva money. Phone Post 3.0

Interesting. Doubt its Nike. Hope its adidas that would be so awesome!!

So there won't be any competition at all? I know the sponsor landscape is pretty shitty right now, but that is pretty messed up fighters will have no choice
