Aldo would wreck Penn

I lol'd.  Someday maybe, but definitely not now or in the near future.

 LOL @ anyone beating Penn @ 155.

& only 1 or 2 can do it @ 170 (&that's with grease assistance)

 ^^^ you are an absoluteidiot

FranklinFailedMe - kipling, you bring up something I don't understand about BJ. Clearly the guy's ground skills are off the charts. Which makes his consistent use of striking and defending the takedown at all costs confusing.

With K-flo, the fight ended pretty damn quick when BJ changed gears and took Kenny down. I think if BJ does that, he wins the fight but he seems stubbornly attached to striking.

i think its because BJ is not a great offensive wrestler, but he refuses to fight from a inferior position, like the guard

this makes sense for someone who's lost multiple times because he spent too much time on his back defending instead of keeping it standing or taking his opponent down

whoops

I pay Damn good money for Direct TV and no Vs. I'm pissed. Had I been able to watch this fight I could have had a valid opinion, instead i"m left reading post from some troll about how a 145er is gonna destroy BJ... I bet you were on the Kenny train too.
Whatever

in the meantime DAMN YOU DIRECT TV!!!

Is there ever a BJ Penn thread where FranklinFailedMe does not completely spaz out?

i can respect Diego Stole My Name and he makes a good argument at least and not trolling like a tard.

i just feel if ANYTHING Aldos speed, power and quickness and use of all arsenals with SKILLs will be an issue to some degree --even vs BJ ...i see a good matchup...

no i dont think a KO on either side would be the result regardless who wins/loses tho.

however aldo is a force in his own right.

BJ Penn won't be losing at 155 for along time.

haha

wow is that the best u got.? stranger things have happened in mma...most people didnt think fedor had a chance against marc coleman ,randleman or choi as well.

are u kidding me who thought choi would ever beat fedor

plenty of ppl thought that considering he was 12-1 in k-1

Fedor opens as a huge favorite over

Hong Man Choi

November 30, 2007

Fedor Emelianenko, arguably the best pound for pound mixed martial artist in the world has opened as a -800 (8-1) favorite for his December 30th M-1 Global fight against Hong Man Choi. The early odds were posted this week at online sportsbook Bookmaker.com.

Good fight but I wouldnt bet against BJ vs any 155lber or under.

how is it that as soon as someone wins the title, before even defending it once, he's considered to whip everyone's ass?

nobody KO'd bj before and he fought all the way up to HW. Aldo's only chance would be to win the stand up battle or gain a favorable position to GnP, and he is a 145er..

where are you getting this idea of Aldo smashing BJ???

The guy KO's Brown at FW and now he can beat the #1 LW in the world?

Only on the UG

 Aldo is that good...

I think he would beat penn.

Aldo MAY be the p4p best in MMA right now...

Whos striking is better?

Who is a better athlete?

He does need to defend.his belt.. I just see a super technical super athletic fighter.

His reach on Uriah is gonna be big problem for him, he can stop a mike brown takedown too.

His movement ,speed cardio, kicks ,and other variiety of striking skillls is what would cause penn problems.

I will definetly put my money where my mouth is on Aldo... he is that good and gifted.

"Aldo MAY be the p4p best in MMA right now..."

No, just no.  Aldo is one of my favorite fighters but no way is he p4p above GSP or Fedor.  Gotta see him against some more top competition to say that.

 Your right....

I did say MAY but I gotta agree with you...lets see how he does when facing adversity like GSP and fedor have.

I

BJ will never lose again at 155. Period.

Aldo could maybe hang in there for a while, but in the end, if he were somehow getting the better of BJ standing (and by this I mean scoring more points), BJ would just take him down and destroy him on the ground.

Machida couldn't knock fat ass BJ out...there is no way Aldo could knock out in-shape BJ.

Both guys are great at their respective weights. Both guys trained under Andre Pederneiras. Both guys are champions.
RESPECT!

Let's give the newest champ to reach the stature of Penn and hope that he grows into a lightweight so we can see him in the UFC.

aldo's striking is wayyy overrated...he is explosive and uses a lot of different techniques, but he is not that tight....brown was nailing him with punches
