Apparently I have 1 more year to watch mma

dammit i'll be 35 next week. I NEED MOAR TIME

I'm only posting in this thread since I am 32 and this is the first time on here, that I haven't felt like the old guy at the club.

Carry on, you fossils.

41 have been watching since the beginning and... hey where am I and who are all these people?

Damn, some of you living, walking ancient artifacts.you guys fart dust your so old. Phone Post

20, im ripe for the picking Phone Post

40 next month. Damn. :( Never saw MJ play ball but at least I can say I saw GSPs' first UFC fight live. VS. Karo.

I remember watching that live and thinking damn that guy is huge!! I hope Karo can beat this bully. Who'd of thought that non English speaking dude (at the time)would be the GSP we all know today. In MMA terms, that's a pretty good memory for my old ass.

Speaking of the old days...hahaha..How far we've come. Thought I'd give you guys a little flashback at the way things were before the mainstream explosion.

Some stories for ya:

In the lobby of the Mandaley Bay.

Frank Mir warming up. Really. You could almost be a douche and ask for an autograph..but he looked like he didn't want to be bothered. So we just watched him warming up.

Talked to Rico Rodriguez. He was just chilling solo. No one knew who he was. LOL

Across the way, (also chilling solo) Chuck on his cell. Should have said hello to him.

So at a cafe in hotel (before fights) This young dude (say 11-12 years old) grabs an empty seat next to me and my brother. He starts talking to us..he says my brother is fighting in the UFC tonight and is going to smash some no-namer tonight. He's very cocky and proud to brag about his brother. It was kind of funny and cool at the same time.

Turns out...he's Karos' little brother. And by coincidence, I saw him and his father emptying out of the events center after the fights' and he had tears in his eyes. Was kind of touching. Felt bad for him.

Watched Lee M. submit Murray and talk mad shit to Tito afterwards. Hilarious. Got a pic with Tito and he signed our tickets. Which is funny because he wasn't even on the card. Say what you will about Cheeto, but you got to hand it to him...he was a great self promoter in the early days before it was common and pointless.

Correction: Submit Rivera..woops

Forever12er -  I was thinking of this today. How do they know how old someone is from a ppv number? Is it cause that's who's buying all their shirts or something? Phone Post

I'm interested in this as well.

Well they've been able to glean a lot of this info from TV demo numbers, but I'm not sure how else they've done it.

Probably the same way they do the Nielson's. Phone Post

jason73 - just turned 40. get off my lawn

Gold! Phone Post

36 and read this forum and watch mma is all I do all day every day

Your safe youngster. Will WILL miss PRIDe more and more as time passes though.

40 and it's the only sport I watch, other than boxing, kickboxing, some wrestling, some bjj, judo, basketball and football.

My grandpa is 87 and grew to love MMA. I showed up to his house pumping him up for the last FUEL card but turned out he had Comcast. He was super bummed.

He is fans of Nick Diaz, Cung Le, and Jon Jones. It tripped me out that he said "that guy from San Jose (my grandpa lives in the bay area), Cormier, knocked out Silva. Is Silva related to Wanderlei?"

Then he was like "Have you seen that Matt Hughes was a farmer thread?"

No that didn't happen but everything else is true. Phone Post

I think that's just the median age, no? Anyhow, I'm 42 and have followed it since it's inception....actually even before since Rickson was discussing it before it started on the seminar trail. I have never stopped following it and never will. Fuck those stats.
