That under 80kg division could be tough for him depending on who all they bring in. He won’t have the same skill advantage he was taking in to 88kg.

I don’t know if Gordon was planning on doing a bracket this ADCC or just the super fight. He could do both CJI and the super fight, since the super fight will be on Sunday.
Plus he gets Craig’s million and could troll him forever. That would actually be the best thing Gordon could do. He probably won’t though
I don’t know if Craig has a long term plan here. I know he’s said he’d like to do it yearly but I suspect his tune will change when he sees what they brought in revenue wise vs what the event cost.
If I had to guess “my rich friend is giving me 3 million dollars to do a show” isn’t going to be a long term plan. And when he sees the actual cost of running something like that he won’t think them paying some drummers and pyro guys is the big cost

Over his career gordon has maybe backed up 1/3 of the claims he’s made. He’ll say he’s going to do something, find it’s actually really hard, then he never mentions it again.
He has said he was going to fight mma and win a gi world championship. He hasn’t competed in either and likely never will.
He got sick again recently.
After this last terminal illness he hasn’t said anything about his division. They won’t let him do the absolute I don’t think since he’d have to grapple himself in the next super fight. He looked rough, like he was closer to 77 kg than 99
Yuri won the absolute with zero subs and scoring 2 points. I can’t imagine Gordon (or anyone) is very excited about that match.
The only matches for him that interest me are Nicky Rod and Tye
I was disappointed in Nicky’s performance against him in the absolute.
I don’t dislike Yuri and I don’t mind slow strategies. But it didn’t seem like he was doing anything but trying to win 0-0 in that whole bracket
Wasnt Gordan destroying Yuri back in the day at the renzos blue basement when Gordon was still only an unknown brown belt and Yuri had won multiple championships?

I would have thought if he made it a different weekend, then it would help the whole sport better overall. More money to go around overall so that athletes have more opportunities to earn money. Rising tide lifts all boats mentality would have been better?
