I'll pick a hockey Enforcer every time

Hemlock- you're a fucking idiot. Some of the nicest guys in hockey(charity work, fan friendly) are tough guys. Phone Post

I've seen the GSP/Laroque sparring session on TSN. Artificial and controlled.

Now lets say GSP and oh say… Tony Twist bumped into each other on a crowded dance floor, GSP would get pummeled in about 3 seconds.

Please keep it real because I'm keeping it real. Phone Post

Sprawl'n'Stall - This is debate is a tad dumb, but LOL at saying hockey enforcers are untrained and only fight other untrained guys! Don't you think these guys train in boxing and even MMA? You bet they do. And they actually FIGHT, not just train. They can take a punch while they deliver their own. They won't turtle and cry when they get hit.

Sure in MMA they'd be taken down and blablabla, but in a bar fight? They'd wreck people for sure!

I know right? All these people thinking that a professional athlete who's job it is to fight wouldn't actually, you know, train in how to fight when they aren't training for hockey.

I said almost. And many of the liked guys are goofy knuckleheads that the team puts up woth. Kind of like a Court Jester.

Most have simply won the genetic lottery and are rightfully opportunistic about making a million dollars when their other options are in the $20/Hour range.

hehehe I saw a clip of the penguins a few years ago Crosby and Malkin on the ice doing drills and Laroque in the dressing room with full gear on hitting the focus pads haha

3 words, Ulf Motherfuckin Samuelsson.

heatmeiser - In a crowded bar against any bjj belt or mma guy. Enforcer by face smash. In a ring or octagon, probably not but…

Geography makes fights.

Ill see your enforcer and raise you an A. Overeen.

I dont care if you have the toughest guy in Hockey. Nobody in the NHL is fucking with Overeem in a bar fight.

My brother's best friend was one of the toughest guys in the american hockey league. I grappled with him for fun and he had the strongest grip I have ever encountered. I have also witnesses him destroy numerous people in a bar setting.

I would fight him in a cage any day. I would be very concerned if I had to face him on the street.

A fight is a fight but the surrounding environment plays a part in how it unfolds. Bar fights are most definitly not cage fights. Dealing with distances in closed quarters does not allow you to fight from the outside. The hockey heavies tend to have alot of experience in closed quarters with clothing to clutch.

Although Overeem would dominate all the NHL heavies in a cage. If you think in a packed bar/tight crowd/small room fully clothed he could beat the late Derek Boogaard 100 times out of a 100 times, you may not understand fighting as much as you think you do. Fights turn fast when a 265lbs. Enforcer Hits flush.

For the record Overeem wins well over 50 of the 100 fights on clinch knees alone... But the Boogey man would take a few. RIP Phone Post

HungryHungryHobo - 3 words, Ulf Motherfuckin Samuelsson.

Did UF ever really fight or was he just a cheap shot motherf*cker?

molsonmuscle360 - I've seen hockey enforcers that have played in the NHL and AHL get ragdolled in street fights by regular guys. There form of fighting (grabbing on and throwing) can be very detrimental when they run into a guy who either catches them with a bomb first....

The same can be said for jiujitsu and wrestling. In fact, every style of fighting can be pretty detrimental if you get hit with a giant bomb first. The point is that the good fighters tend to get there "The firstest with the mostest".

"...or have a cast iron chin" - Pretty much every hockey goon falls into that category, or they wouldn't be able to function as goons. When you see it working in hockey game on a good enforcer, it's already working on a top 1% chin. You also vastly underestimate how effective their off balancing techniques are - their holding and hitting methods are very effective at preventing their opponetns from landing effective punches.

"I've seen hockey enforcers that have played in the NHL and AHL get ragdolled in street fights by regular guys."

This sounds extremely unlikely. And if these guys were ragdolling NHL enforcers, ther is nothing regular about them. I wil concede that drunken NHL players can occasionally be sucker punched and ratpacked, ragdolled by regular guys...not so much.

Mushroom Slap -
lookoutawhale - they would get taken down rather easily.

like GSP Vs Georges Laroque on TSN's Off the Record.

we're talking about a real fight not MMA. If you take a guy down in a bar fight youre getting boot fucked by his buddies.

Why aren't they getting bootfucked by your buddies?

I love how people load the question by assuming you're fighting 5 to 1.

NarlyPersianDude - LOL at a hockey enforcer doing anything to a bjj or mma guy. Hockey enforcer are guys on skates, fighting other guys on skates, who are not professional fighters....

The goons he's talking about are in fact professional fighters. That is in fact what they do professioanlly. Like any other combat sport, there are rules they are constrained by, but it's still fighting professionally.

If their dancing, GSP is wearing light clothes without good grips. How exactly is Tony Twist avoiding get dropped on his head?

pick palhares in a bat, what would happen if he gets drunk and fights haha? Phone Post

bat=bar Phone Post

Im fine with the people saying GSP would get beat down in a bar since he is only 190 lbs

But 250 pound Overeem? You think he got that scar on his face eating pussy?

reem actually got the scar from a barfight whan he was 15 Phone Post

Hockey enforcers are paid to enforce (fight). I was reading an interview with an enforcer who said that he hated his job because he was expected to fight. The worst part for him was knowing that the next day you'd have to fight this guy or that guy. You have to realize they are fighting sometimes a couple times a week against other guys who are paid to do the exact same thing. I don't understand how someone could call a hockey enforcer a pussy. Phone Post

Agreed Goku,

Overeem is a tough cat and there's absolutely no denying that. Especially when compared to the average joe. I imagine you dont know much about Derek Boogaard however. Do you think the Boogey man became the most feared striker of his sport by eating pussy? I stand by my statement. Phone Post
