Pray for us ! on the bottom of his belly

Nazis stole the saying  just like the swastika .

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gott_mit_uns

Origins

Nobiscum deus ('God with us') was a battle cry of the late Roman Empire and of the Byzantine Empire.[1] In the 17th century, the phrase Gott mit uns was used as a 'field word', a means of recognition akin to a password,[2] by the army of Gustavus Adolphus at the battles of Breitenfeld (1631), Lützen (1632) and Wittstock (1636) in the Thirty Years' War.[3] In 1701, Frederick I of Prussia changed his coat of arms as Prince-Elector of Brandenburg. The electoral scepter had its own shield under the electoral cap. Below, the motto Gott mit uns appeared on the pedestal.

its historical origins are far older, ultimately tracing back to the Hebrew term Immanuel from the Bible. The Russian Empire's motto also translates to this.

BEEP

I know one thing -- I'd rather fight Fedor than Aleks. Either one would crush me, but Fedor would probably just leave me unconscious and bleeding, while Aleks might skullfuck my still-twitching corpse.

Oh. I didn't realize that you required more information. Sorry. Um...nope. That's all I got. And why did you put "lol"? Did you actually Laugh Out Loud? If so, at what?

I often lol at swastikas, such a funny little symbol. I keed, but I did laugh at this reply. Ironical?

Oh you find that funny. How cute.

this has been debated on here several times over the years. people more familiar with him and the tats have stated that those are a middle finger to the authorities and don't have the same meaning as they would have if a kid in iowa was wearing them. soviet regime was very brutal and made some very hard men who were defiant against and served very hard time. we cant judge it from an american perspective.

Which by SHEER CO-INCIDENCE happens to be the phrase inscribed on SS belt buckles?

If it was purely a religious statement, the tattoo would be in Cyrillic or Latin.

Dude, why he did he not get it in Russian then? He just happens to like German phrases that the Nazis used, so much that he gets them tattooed on his body? So, lets get this straight, you think that he's reappropriating the buddhist symbol with the swastika tats, AND he just randomly likes to advertise the German language when it just happens to be in Nazi-speak.

You could probably justify him getting a totemkopf or a "Sieg Heil!" tat, eh?

Reality check: Aleks giving a fuck about any of you finding his tats controversial by ignorant American standards is highly doubtful.

Reality check- it was the opinion mostly coming from the people on this website that exposed Hoelzer Reich and got them out of major promotions in the US.

It is a big fucking concern of people looking to be promoted - in any shape or form - if they are perceived to be Nazis or not.

And, i love you say how WE are ignorant for questioning well known bigoted symbolism. Oh, and i don't know if you know this but Nazism is bigger in Russia than anywhere else on Earth, so, yes, we should be concerned...

There's a 45min documentary on YouTube about Russian prisons and their tattoos .... HARDCORE Phone Post

this whole Alex prison tatoo story has been debunked thoroughly on the UG before.
the old school way of Russian prison tattoos was that you couldnt get tattoos unless you have done certain things, or have done time, or held some type of esteem in the criminal world.

but that system id dying/dead and a lot of real gangsters dont even bother with them anymore because of the attention it brings, just like the yakuza dont chop off the finger nearly as often.

But because the imagery is so cool and has been reported so much you see people in Russia who are not associated with any mob activity or have any standing in the criminal world getting them.

In the olden days that was supposed to guarantee trouble but not anymore.
as far as the nazi symbolism goes, that was also standard fair for prison tattoos. That had to do more with rebellion against the criminal justice system under communism than any ideology.

ABE FROMAN - Fedor's own brother is a nazi AND he's rapping??? Somebody please clear this up for me because I don't know any rapping nazis.

they are actually anti-nazi tats. if you look at them the swastikas are not shaded in there is an empty space where the swastika would go. it's in reference to the fact that germany never took russia. think raging bull "you never got me down ray." basicly means they never knelt to the nazis

Great information Dongbar, I thought both Fedor and Aleks were against nazism. Thank for having the knowledge to clear that up.

no prob. the book i read had some reall cool stories from WWII. i guess pretty much the whole organization joined up and the mob ran a lot of the military operations seperatly from the military it's self.

Name of said book? am looking fore something to read haha.

^^^ hmmm. it was a long time ago. i think it was called Red Godfathers  or something along those lines

Meathead v aleks would be epic. One of those fights where everyone ends up going to the hospital. Phone Post

Swastika is MUCH OLDER than Nazism.. Don't quote me, but believe originally Greek, represented fertility also. Nazis took swastika and I think turned diagonal, this was because they were looking for symbol that already held power. By making diagonal , thy wanted to make it their own. Obviously most Russians are not Nazis.. Come on, Russians held west Berlin up until like 20 years ago for sole purpose of humiliating the army and people that murdered millions of their countrymen.
