^ thanks.
Aaron Lapointe -On a separate note I can't think of anyone in the BJJ world who is better at connecting with and empowering an audience than Rener is. He is a true master in that regard.
I agree, but to what end? He's got very much the same type of charm, charisma and sway over people as a young Jim Jones or David Koresh. Doesn't mean it's a good thing; it's an effective tool to get what you want. It's a very practiced and calculated way of behaving, used by conmen, ministers, salesmen. It's a set of behaviors that appeal to most people. Yes, he is a master of it --so are all cult leaders.
As they say, once you can fake sincerity, you've got it made.
fn shit rener. the fact it takes 10-40min to address simple questions shows theres a problem. its all just a bunch of time killed to try and come up with some roundabout justification.
its been years since i interacted with rorion but shen's comments really hit home. in talking and interacting with rorion he always came off as genuine and sincere. yes his priority was good business but nonetheless there appeared to be genuine good will. with rener its like hes a fully automated salesman robot. he doesnt know what hes saying half the time and hes been fully programmed to manipulate, charm and sell. on top of that he talks down to you. you arent regarded as being on the same level. you are a mark. if you arent buying what hes selling than you are instantly discredited and pushed aside

You take that back!
I have fought hard against cults my whole life. The Shendokan's Cult-SAFE!(tm) Program offers communal living in a community of like-minded people who want to avoid the pitfalls of cult ensnarement. Close to 100 souls (mostly women) living in harmony on my compound, shunning the modern world and it's many, insidious cults.
You're exactly the kind of "outsider" I warn my members to avoid. So stop trying to slander me in an attempt to destroy the paradise on earth I have built for my beautiful children!!!!!!

UGCTT_Fillthy - so far, I don't think these girls have done anything wrong and I think Rener has done the right thing to support them in this situation. It's kind of sad that there's so very little real journalism in the BJJ community.
Haven't seen where they're misreprenting their rank...they're teaching in a CTC wearing blue belts and representing themselves as blue belts in Gracie Jiu Jitsu.
It's certainly not in the same realm as what McMahon was doing in PA.

lol @ not doing something wrong.
They but BJJ black belts on and wore them with their BJJ gis.
You want to invent some martial arts system with your own belt system, do not use belts from other martial arts . If you do it is a blatant misrepresentation.
Put the cup of kool aid down for just 5 seconds.
We have a judo black belt from Australia who has started teaching throws at the beginning of our BJJ classes, he is very good. I encouraged him to wear his judo black belt while doing this. But without me having to say anything, when the judo part of the class is over, he takes off his judo black belt and puts on his BJJ blue belt. I wouldn't really be mad if he didn't switch belts, but I think it's pretty cool that he does.
Jeff Rockwell - We have a judo black belt from Australia who has started teaching throws at the beginning of our BJJ classes, he is very good. UGCTT_Fillthy - According to them (and everyone familiar with their school), the BJJ belt is what GM Seth used to denote 'Black Belt Instructor' in his system. They're just carrying on in that system with the existing clientele.
They've never represented themselves as black belts in jiu-jitsu to their students or anyone else. That's a pretty significant difference when compared to what McMahon was doing.
"Lastly, regarding the red bars on our black belts, that is the belt that our system uses to set apart instructor black belts from other black belts. In case anyone is wondering, there is no regulation on belt systems. No one is the "authority" in what system uses what belt. It is up to the school to decide what belts they choose to wear."
and herein lies the problem. Anyone can do anything to try and look like they are one thing, then when they get called out, fall back on this lame excuse.
There is NO reason to "randomly and benignly" select the red bar (with stripes no less lol) on the black belt as the black belt of choice for their martial art system that they created.
Its simple. Choose something else to wear with your Helio Gracie gi. That way no one can accuse you of anything. Not so complicated...
Really, the only info online about "GM Seth" is that he has been busted for being a pedo & there is criticism from former students & his own INSTRUCTOR saying that he is a fraud. Pretty damn clear he is not certified to teach anything and is not a real MA instructor of any kind, just a con man.
So, that's the guy these girls are so proud to represent with their BJJ-identical belt ranks. This must be that "integrity" these girls are so self-righteously referring to.
Really, there is something deepy wrong with this school and their over indulgent parents who facilitated it.
UGCTT_Fillthy - I think they agree, but someone is taking their pictures out of context to create a disparaging narrative. Obviously, they know they made a mistake. And they didn't choose the belts for Seth-do, GM Seth made that choice. They are very proud of their 14 yo black belts in Seth-do...whatever, good for them.
FWIW - the name of the school is Fort Collins Martial Arts Academy.
Just to reiterate, they aren't wearing the Seth-do black belts to teach GJJ, and they're not marketing themselves as JJ black belts.
that website is a bigger gracie commercial than the torrance academy.
lol @ sticking up for these frauds.
It's flat out not right.
they're catching a beating on their Facebook page, which, by the way, also says Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Fort Collins...there is no way that the business decision was to appeal to Seth-do students as proposed in UGCTT FIlthy's last post, it's obvious the business decision was to market themselves as GJJ instructor's.
I feel bad for the girls. This is the parent's fault.
lol at those idiot teenagers talking about keyboard warriors. Again they are teens but they aren't stupid. Keep up the flack good people, it is time they learned the ways of the world.
