JCJ - I ordered size 4 for both. It said that
it would fit a person who is 5'8" and 160 lbs,
and I'm close to that. The other sizes seemed
either to small or too large. The size 4 is
slightly large on me, but with a wash or two,
it should shrink a little. By the way, I don't
know if I know you, how do you pronounce JCJ?
(Jik-Jah?) lol
And waynejitsu is not me. But obviously
we feel the same about the Padilla gi's.

And that cost is $130 U.S. ($30 off if you
purchase two gi's).
But watch how you have it shipped. I paid for
shipping (prepaid), and when the package
arrived @ my front door, the courier wanted
an additional $78.35 Canadian funds for
brokerage fees (including PST & GST). I argued
with a UPS rep on the phone, and she agreed
to give me a price break (I got it for half that
- she said it was a "one-time" deal, and that
I wouldn't be able to get it again for that
price).
Once the shipper enters a price on the waybill,
they convert that to Canadian $, then you get
gouged. If I order again in the future, I will
ask that NO cost be put on the waybill (or,
at least less). I'm not cheap, but with the
conversion, plus the fees, it adds up. I'm
going to stop complaining now. Nice gi's!

An ATAMA gold weave or single are excellent choices for a gi that you plan on training in and washing everyday....Good cut, tough pants, and a tighter fitting top with good, thick collars...

Joseph - Well, I just received my two gi's
today via UPS (I would have had them yesterday,
but no one was home to receive them). To be
fair to other manufacturers of gi's, I am
the owner of only one other brand (I have two
Judoka Judo gi's), so I cannot comment on
any others, however, I can say that I am
in awe of these Padilla & Sons gi's that I
just received. I am the proud owner of both
a single and a double weave, and after trying
them on, they feel absolutely fabulous. The
top is well constructed, has a heavy lapel,
and fits nice. The pants are really heavy, and
the fit and feel are amazing. (my judo gi pants
start to fall even after a minute of grappling -
doesn't matter how tight I tie them. I used
to think that no gi would feel good on me (I'm
150lbs 5'9"), but these Padilla & Sons are
just the thing I was looking for in a gi).
The best way to truly find out is to roll
in it for an hour or so, which I'll be doing
tomorrow (I had it on today for about 15
minutes, and did some rolls on my living room
floor to test it somewhat - lol).
Oh, and they have a special on now - one single,
and one double for $130. Can't beat that.

no, two different people. he(wayne-o) is in canada, i(waynejitsu) am in alabama(unfortunately). i wish i was in atlanta so i could train at jacare's more often. i haven't been there in years. the 2-3 hour drive there, train for a few hours, drive 2-3 hours back got to be too much, so i am trying to find a training partner in alabama.
