Yes, rumors are true. ONE Atomweight World Champion Angela Lee's new contract pays more than what Cris Cyborg or Joanna Jedrzejczyk make.

Good for Angela. I am wondering if the UFC had interest in her

@SeanSheehanBA I legitimately laughed. If she makes 5% of what top female athletes make, I'd be shocked.

@ZidanSports seen earlier she's getting paid more than Joanna Jedrzejczyk and Cyborg. Is that true?

Karim Zidan‏@ZidanSports
@jonesnose Absolutely not. Not even close.

@antontabuena ONE really outdid itself with this BS.

Bantamweight Queen of Pancrase Rin Nakai drops down to the flyweight division for her return to Pancrase on July 24th at Pancrase 279 in Tokyo, Japan. Nakai is set to face off against multi-time boxing world champion Emiko “Fujin” Raika in a featured matchup on the event’s main card.

Nakai recently completed a two-fight stint with the UFC, which saw her drop decisions to current UFC champion Miesha “Cupcake” Tate and Leslie “The Peacemaker” Smith. Raika looks to rebound from a decision defeat against Brogan “Killer Bee” Walker at Pacific Xtreme Combat 50 in December.

Nakai (16-2-1) turned down contract offers from Strikeforce and later the UFC in order to continue to compete in Japan between 2011 and the end of 2013. During that time, she became the inaugural Bantamweight Queen of Pancrase champion and earned a big victory over MMA pioneer Tara LaRosa. Finally, after defeating Invicta FC veteran Sarah “The Monster” D’Alelio two years ago, Nakai inked a two-fight deal with the UFC. However, she suffered her first career defeat against Tate in September 2014 and most recently dropped a razor-thin decision to Smith at UFC Fight Night 85 in March.

Raika (2-3-0, 1 NC), who is one of Japan’s most decorated female boxing champions, made the move to MMA in September 2014 – just eight days before Nakai debuted for the UFC – and engaged in a competitive back-and-forth bout against kickboxing champion Su Jeong “Beautiful Fighter” Lim. Raika was defeated in the fight, and she subsequently suffered a submission loss to top Deep Jewels star

Shizuka Sugiyama, but she bounced back with back-to-back victories including a first-round knockout. In her most recent fight, Raika suffered a Unanimous Decision loss to the unbeaten Walker in Guam.

Pancrase 279 takes place on July 24th at Differ Ariake in Tokyo, Japan. The event also features a strawweight bout between Krush kickboxing champion and recent MMA debutant Syuri Kondo, and an opponent to be determined.

That's right, we've added a women's super bantamweight division! Grand Prix tournament details to follow..

I was hoping that Iman Barlow(she isnt in the photo but will be competing in the tournament) would make the transition to MMA. Now that Tiffany is signed to Glory and Invicta maybe the other MT fighters will consider the same. Shannon Knapp mentioned on Twitter that she is attending the event tomorrow, maybe scouting for talent? I am hoping one day that Anissa Meksen also makes the transition to MMA

Tiffany will be making her Glory debut tomorrow against Esma Hasshass

May 12, 2016

New York, NY – During a special presentation at Citizens Business Bank Arena, streamed live via the official GLORY Facebook page, the world’s premier kickboxing league today announced the formation of a women’s super bantamweight division, carrying a limit of 122 lb / 55.5 kg.
In order to crown GLORY’s inaugural super bantamweight champion, the organization will hold a Grand Prix tournament, playing out over multiple events.
The Grand Prix’s first quarterfinal bout will unfold tomorrow, May 13, on UFC FIGHT PASS as part of the GLORY 30 SuperFight Series in Los Angeles, as Tiffany “Time Bomb” van Soest (14-2-1, 5 KO) comes home to California for her GLORY debut against Dutch-stylist Esma “Fight Queen” Hasshass (9-2, 3 KO), fighting out of Morocco.
Eight other super bantamweights will join Van Soest and Hasshass on the GLORY roster.
“We were only interested in the top fighters to debut our new weight class,” said GLORY Head of Talent Operations Cor Hemmers. “The best strikers in the world fight for GLORY and now that distinction includes our super bantamweights.”
Fighting in Amsterdam on June 25 at GLORY 31 SuperFight Series, 21-year-old prospect Isis Verbeek (8-2, 5 KO) of the Netherlands takes on muay thai phenom Iman “Pretty Killer” Barlow (83-5-3, 25 KO) of England in the second announced Grand Prix quarterfinal bout.
Three additional Grand Prix match-ups were announced for later this year, but exact dates and locations have yet to be revealed.
Comprising the final two quarterfinal bouts, former Bellator MMA strawweight champion Zoila “Warrior Princess” Frausto (4-0, 2 KO) will meet German boxer Daniela Graf (23-4-1, 2 KO), while World Kickboxing Network (WKN) world champion, undefeated Amel Dehby (27-0, 11 KO) of France battles Korean muay thai champion Ji-Waen Lee (13-2, 3 KO).
South Africa’s Ferial “Felix” Ameeroedien and Russian veteran Irina Mazepa will square off in a tournament reserve fight.
“The question about female fighters in GLORY has long been asked and now we’ve answered with ten fantastic super bantamweights,” said GLORY CEO Jon Franklin. “But we’re looking to sign more. We’re looking at this Grand Prix as a launching pad for women in GLORY.”
In addition to the prestige of holding GLORY gold, the Grand Prix winner and inaugural super bantamweight champion will earn a cash prize of $25,000.
